So hammer said he hasnt been asked.... and the list of available doesnt include him. Both in line.
So why does he need to talk to his wife about options then? Not consistent.
Unless its in case there is a last day decision Im guessing - SMBDragon
Yeah, a lot of people are wound up about this list not having Hamhuis' name on it. It's crazy isnt it?
Im sure people are calling about Hammer. He hasnt been asked to waive but that comes after the GM has worked out a trade or has a number of options.
Maybe Hammer and his wife are putting together a destination list that will work for the family... in preparation for the inevitable question. He knows it's coming I think.
None the less... you dont list available players to the media that havent waived yet.... specially when there is no need. What GM in this league doesnt know Hammer's contract status... I cant see a GM who has a need for a player like Hamhuis not call because JB left his name off a Tweet. JB is calling all the tams that he identifies as needing Hammer no doubt. "but the tweet say we are keeping hammer...oh no"

We have strong prospects at least 10. Our NHL club needs more work than our farm team, I think trade for Canuck players not picks. - VANTEL
That's a fair opinion. I'm not at all satisfied with our prospect pool. I'm also fine with the Canucks not being a good team for another year, so that's where our opinions skew. Top picks turn into top players. The team that wins this year will have at least one top 10 pick in their core, if not more I would wager. Your core only really consists of 5-6 guys, I think we have 3 maybe 4 of those guys depending on the progression of Hutton, Demko and Boeser. I'm not convinced about Hutton being that guy, I like him hope he is at least top-4 or better yet proves me wrong and is a stud. I think that stud D could be in the first or 2nd round of this draft, thus I hope for more 1st and 2nd round picks |

Sergachev Juolevi Fabbro will be around at our pick.
Idk if these r blue chippers but i like Sergachev on a hunch n Juolevi could be interesting. That said the BPA is the way to go eg McLeod or a top Finn if we luck out on the lottery. Trade down in top 12-14 for the right deal works for me also. |

Everyone wants more 1st and 2nd round picks. The Derek Roy's of the world no longer earn 2nd round picks. We have one trade chip with value potentially that high and its Hamhuis |

Hutton doesn't have to be the guy but let's see how he does on his third year. I am accounting for the Sophmore jinx.
As it stands next year we have a safety net of Edler and Tanev who can go at least one more year. I think Benning will find a trade for a Dman before next season starts. We will still have Sbisa signed ( not great but reliable) I imagine Pedan or Tryamkin or both make the team. We just signed the new guy bottom pairing . Plus we can get someone off UFA. |

I didn't forget him I'm just not sure they will trade him...this will be a difficult decision. My preference is they sell high. It has been said that he is becoming a leader of the new core and he has a great attitude and contract. Tough guy to move |

My comments were in response to a few people wanting NHL ready players from trades instead of picks. I agree we don't have much to get those picks. I think Hansen could fetch something pretty nice though, maybe even a first. I'm not saying sell anything for picks, simply that I hope one or two end up coming back on TDL day. Toronto just got two 2nd rounders for Polak and Spaling, so you're Roy comment is not quite on point with all due respect. |

true, one of the few tradeable contracts on this roster. |
