I didn't forget him I'm just not sure they will trade him...this will be a difficult decision. My preference is they sell high. It has been said that he is becoming a leader of the new core and he has a great attitude and contract. Tough guy to move - CanuckDon
I must agree he's a helluva player for $2.5m |

Do you really think there is a single GM out of the 29 that does not know that Hammer and Vrbada have expiring contracts and we are missing the playoffs?
- boonerbuck
No, it`s up to Benning to tell TSN that they are available, and to put them on the list and distribute this to 29 teams. This way canuck fans know that they have a seriously engaged GM, whose standing by the phone, ready, willing and able, day or night, no hour is to late.
This is the guy canuck fans want, this guy is a (frank)ing superhero. |

The irony is: how many griped about giving Hansen 2.5 mil at the time? |

My comments were in response to a few people wanting NHL ready players from trades instead of picks. I agree we don't have much to get those picks. I think Hansen could fetch something pretty nice though, maybe even a first. I'm not saying sell anything for picks, simply that I hope one or two end up coming back on TDL day. Toronto just got two 2nd rounders for Polak and Spaling, so you're Roy comment is not quite on point with all due respect. - neem55
Polak is a better player than Roy and plays a position that is always at a premium come deadline day. Let's not forget that they are 2017 and 2018 picks. The difference is significant. Remember, Bieksa isn't a Shark because they tried to give us a 2016 pick last minute.
All that being said, I don't know how SJ is so incompetent on so many levels. Garbage organization |

its a 5th rounder cool your guns people. Maybe change your underpants. - Crazybagoham
And while you are changing your pants, take a few seconds to reflect on the fact that he is one of the top scoring D in the KHL and was a 2015/16 KHL All Star.
Good risk with a 5th rounder.
The real beauty of this, Edmonton wanted him back. They gave him a qualifying offer, they have asked him to return. He refused to return to Edmonton. Sounds like he will be happy to play anywhere else in North America, just not Edmonton! |

We let him walk at the end of the deal, he signs a big ticket contact with edmonton and gets bought out 2 years in, or do you mean if he turns Edler into an all star?
If it's the second then Bullfrog stops posting until we trade Larson. .. - Pres.cup

The conversation could go like this.
Jb 'hey dan, if we arn't going to make the playoffs and a team makes us an offer on you, would you be willing to waive? '
Hammer 'well jim, why don't you explore your options and if you can hammer out a deal then let me know and I'll tell you whether I'll waive or not. '
JB 'great dan, glad we could come to an understanding because I'm getting roasted on Hockeybuzz'
Hammer 'no problem just ask me whenever your ready.'
Any conversation like this shows a willingness to waive even though no asking to waive has actually happened.
The article quoted dan saying that they hadn't asked him to waive, not whether they'd talked to him about the possibility of waiving. Apples and oranges - Pres.cup
