Im sure people are calling about Hammer. He hasnt been asked to waive but that comes after the GM has worked out a trade or has a number of options.

Maybe Hammer and his wife are putting together a destination list that will work for the family... in preparation for the inevitable question. He knows it's coming I think.

None the less... you dont list available players to the media that havent waived yet.... specially when there is no need. What GM in this league doesnt know Hammer's contract status... I cant see a GM who has a need for a player like Hamhuis not call because JB left his name off a Tweet. JB is calling all the tams that he identifies as needing Hammer no doubt. The more I look at Twitter, read certain Canuck bloggers and read comment boards, the more I realize how easy it is to troll and mock Canuck fans. A bunch of panicked rabbits. "OMG, Benning sent out a list. What a loser. He's de-valuing his players. Hamhuis is not on the list. He thinks he's making the playoffs. He undervalues his assets. He said he doesn't want draft picks."

Don't see band aids. More like making small patches along the way to make sure the patient doesn't bleed to death. Then again, I guess since I started this metaphor it can now be used anyway depending on your perspective.
