We need speed and more skill. I don't think we will be able to rid our selves of all of our problems in the near future but we can greatly improve by the end of the deadline and set our selves up for some moves this summer.

Eventually Moulson needs to go no matter how we make it happen. Franson obviously needs to go but who is going to take him hurt? I would love to see Gionta gone as well but I don't see it happening anytime soon.

I agree with many that some of our younger players such as Foligno should have panned out by now. Move them.

Sure maybe.... but at 44 Jagr is going to have a bond with a wheelchair sooner than later. (YES i know he still plays very well but i doubt in what could be the last year of his career he wants to play in Buffalo)

This is a good post. Asset management beyond the core---and I love our core (that sounded funny)---is where TM is going to make or break our Cup chances.

Edmonton wants good stuff for their stuff. We got good stuff last year but had to give a lot of stuff away. New stuff comes in every year and most of it is useless stuff.

Speed is almost always good stuff.

McCoy's hands were photographed after the incident and were found to not be bruised or cut.

Hard to prove that a punch was thrown.

And I wish Tim Murray would take out the players he's going to trade because it looks like those players are going to be injured and we're going to be screwed the West is going to beat the crap out of us

Unless Fasching pans out. McNabb would not be a top 2 defenseman here. He's a good player there because he's also surrounded by good players in LA. Here he'd be another good piece but let's not say we traded away a top 2 guy. I'm not saying I like/dislike the trade, just not going to say that he's a top 2 defenseman.

I haven't liked that trade from the moment it happened, mostly bc I though McNabb would be a solid part of our defense
He's not a "top2" guy, but he has spent a lot of time with Doughty so they can balance out their pairs. And from what I've seen (I watch LA a lot), he's holding his own for sure.
Just imagine if he & Pysyk were our 3rd pair...
We'd have had one heck of a strong defense
I pictured McCabe eventually with Risto and Zadorov with Myers

Fasching still needs to work on his skating,

If we get one of the top forwards in this draft, I think he's our most appealing trade piece to another team for a young defenseman
