I honestly didn't think we could get anything back for Schultz other than maybe a 3rd round pick. If we can get a prospect who is further along in his development than whoever we would draft in the third round I consider that a win.

Interesting, but I think Nichushkin has to suck hard for a lot longer to sink to Yak's level.

I don't think Montreal has the assets to get it done. Their prospect pool is very thin, and the only assets they have on the ice that I'd want are all untouchables (Subban, Max Pac, Price)

I think pretty much every team has the assets to make a reasonable pitch for Yak. He isn't worth that much.

Whatever makes you sleep at night pal. It's not Edm that iced one of the worst teams in history last season so it's no surprise you guys are improving otherwise you'd be breaking all the losing records.

Yak really did have a good game last night, he made a difference. The problem is that he rushes absolutely everything he does, with the puck or without it. If he calms down and takes a more rational and controlled approach he could live up to his pick potential. Unfortunately he can't because his hockey IQ has an extra chromosome.

He was successful with McD because McD was able to calm the game down for him. He will only be a difference maker in the NHL by playing with someone who is able to see the game in slow motion, a la McD, Thornton, Kopitar, etc.

Problem as well is that he needs first/second line minutes....and not only when he's playing good....He needs time to dev into a full NHL player and now playing on the 3rd/4th line....he's not playing in a typical offensive role

MTL would welcome him and make him play with Galchenyuk on the 2nd/ Future 1st line
