I think it would be nice if we could do a Moulson style deal with McGinn. Send him off to grab a pick, and bring him back July 1 with a new deal.
Naturally, I would think his deal would be a bit less price than Moulson's. |

I'm not expecting us to get the return we want for McGinn. If the rumors are true that we're willing to re-sign him I expect that to be the result. Just hoping it's not too hard to swallow |

So Maata signed for 6 years? I'd be okay doing that for Risto. Give him 5M/6 years. Manageable cap him when we re-sign Eichel and Sam |

Especially with the cap expected to stay put or go down I don't see any reason for them to pay more 4.5 mil |

Yes, like Kane was.
If Kane were in the middle of a 25 goal 55-60 point season, I would feel much differently. He's proving that he's a complimentary player, and not a production driver.
I just wouldn't trade what we did for that, ever.
O'Reilly is different. He makes others around him better. Reinhart has been lost without him. I'd do the O'Reilly deal 100 times over - sbroads24
I will forever be of the belief that the Kane deal was to completely insure last place was secured for last season, meaning by adding a player that was out for the season with an injury. I say that knowing full well that Murray liked Kane a lot, but I think if Kane was not injured, Murray would not have made the deal until after the season and at that point, who knows what the trade would have looked like. I think Murray was hell bent on finishing last and he found a way to both get a player he likes while helping the tank.
That move may have been vital with how pathetic other teams were in trying to finish last as well. |

At that point I see the agent pushing for a bridge deal. I'd love long term for 4.5 but they might think he's worth a lot more in 2 years. Above my pay grade to decide, though |

yea though they are 12 points out of a playoff spot, they might but there prolly isn't a pressing need for a back up if your season is a wash |

Maybe because he wouldn't accept? If it's not a good enough offer, he might just ask for a bridge prove it deal, then Buffalo would have to pony up on the next one. It's a risky game either way. |

Not necessarily. if you give him 6 at 4.25 mil he gets a nice raise, sabres get some security and buy a few UFA years and Risto still has enought time for one more big contract. |

am thinking 6yr/$30M is a good possibility...any dollar figure lower on that term would be a bonus for Buffalo, imo |
