I just think any expectations for him are overrated bc
1) a much younger kid is producing on his level
2) the team wanted to replace him as the starter befor this season started

We all know predicting how goalies will turn out is basically guesswork at best
But I feel those 2 reasons I listed are a big cause for tempering any expectations for hi future

Just that ppl are prob getting too excited about what he'll ever become

he fractured and seperated his shoulder. Don't just purely speculate that he became a bad goalie.

he only played 2 games his sophmore year. Then had to find his adjustments with a redone shoulder on a VERY BAD team his junior year. Yea they might have looked to replace him but again... I'd love to hear your PROOF that that was the case.

He has bounced back his Senior year to be a top goalie in NCAA right behind Thatcher Demko who was a 2nd round pick. Their S% is close yes.. but GAA of 2.35 and 2.16 are VERY different especially when the guy with the 2.16 has played 25 games compared to only 10 by the freshman.

You can have your opinion... but I also have the right to tell you how stupid/completely made up it is.

I don't think it would make Foligno overrated, I think it would mean that both are playing well and Bailey has a higher ceiling.

So with that, both goalies are playing well yet Hackett might have the higher ceiling. Just how I read into it.

Not crazy about Andreoff as he is a bottom 6 guy it seems but hte 2nd is nice there.

Getting Olsen AND Wierioch as left handed young DMen seems like a dream... Prince Is going to be a VERy good top 6 player who is from Rochester, NY as well.

Could be a pipedream but man would it be nice to add those pieces.

McGinn might get us a late 1st and a b prospect but hard to say with these rentals.

Wiercioch is expendable and a healthy scratch due to the Wideman signing and I think Prince seems to be on the outs there as well. Sens will watch their budget so maybe it's a fair deal.

RPI wasn't looking to replace him. They were looking for his replacement because they thought he was turning pro. That playoff series against Clarkson almost got him his first NHL contract but then he was traded to an organization full of goaltenders.

Winnipeg soured on him a bit because of his injury and he didn't bounce back as quickly. But as someone who watched and reffed a ton of college hockey before I moved down south RPI was a joke and he single handed stole a playoff round against a heavily favored Clarkson team.
