Yup. And considering 3 and 29 will probably get better.

I am really coming around to Murray, but that move I just think is a tire fire.

- sbroads24

I really viewed this year as a season that we'd spend figuring out who would fit together & adjust to the system Bylsma wants to play

I think there were some that expected far too much with all the changes & young guys being infused into the lineup

Bogo isn't the only guy to struggle that we need more from
Kane IMO has been fine. Good even, just not great.

We need Ennis & Girgensons to have better seasons next year as well.
At this point,
Getting anything outta Moulson or Gionta would be a nice surprise I guess

So Maata signed for 6 years? I'd be okay doing that for Risto. Give him 5M/6 years. Manageable cap him when we re-sign Eichel and Sam
- Zschalberg

That's a weird cap hit for Maata, but I think it's great for the Sabres. I was worried they'd have to back up the truck for Risto, and maybe they do, but I see a Subban like bridge deal for 3 or 4 years take him up to the year before he goes UFA. I'm not sure when that is and don't care to look it up I have a massive headache and just generally feel like crap. But yeah, a few years at maybe $5M-ish Then still maintain his rights and then sign him to the big contract. But who knows what'll happen, the CBA is up in 3? years, and we'll probably get another lockout with a ton of new changes.

I think at times Kane has played incredibly well. He is a great possession player, and great on the forecheck. However he is probably going to end up with 30-35 points. I think 99% of us figured that number would be substantially higher

Been trying to find a stat where Bogo isn't at or near the bottom. Come up empty so far.

Edit: Fewest giveaways amongst our d-men who have 700 mins played.

- Sabresfan-365

He's better than Risto in a few categories. We were going back and forth a couple weeks ago. Bogo is last in the league in one stat, but is several points better in CF% I believe and SF/60 and SA/60. Something like that. I don't feel like looking it up. See my last post, but it was 3 or 4 categories where he's statistically significantly better.

There is no such thing as a 4 year bridge deal. That would bring him to UFA.

For sure...
I think expecting 30goals from him isn't outta the question

But our scoring in general is a lot less than I think we all expected
I expect it to be a lot better next year,
So that should help #s go up

Although, scoring seems to be down throughout the league in general
I haven't seen league-wide stats,
But there's a lot of individuals who are underperforming on the score sheet this season

He also sees different competition and ice time that's why I wasn't comparing him to risto just to the team in general or comparing to say McCabe/pysyk because the roles are closer.

I'm hoping to win a 4th Rounder tonight.

Hey Chad, you can take your gear and just move it over to the Home lockerroom.

I'd do 3 years. I think the plan is to go for it in Eichel and Reinharts last ELC year. Having Risto on a cheap cap hit helps us go big in the off season and deadline day.

You missed my point. My point was to give him a contract that leaves one year of RFA to retain his rights and give him less leverage.

Like I said I don't know what year he goes UFA off the top of my head, so I would do a deal that takes him up to the year before he does. But he's only 21 I believe and the earliest you can go UFA is 7 years of service, or 27 years old, and I don't know if he played enough in his rookie year to "earn" a year towards UFA, but let's say he did, That would make this his 3rd year, so a 3 year deal would leave him as an RFA when the deal is up, assuming he doesn't get hurt and miss most of a season.

You can't be giving him a pass he's been absolutely terrible I would encourage him getting traded at the deadline before he's worth nothing ..

Furthermore, if Bogosian is considered an integral piece while Pysyk gets no respect I have to seriously start reconsidering my faith in Tim Murray
