And with ROR out, I don't see us passing anyone else who's near us

I think my early season prediction of picking between 3-7 is looking pretty good

Looked at the standings, Leafs and Oil below us. I'm really wondering, what do the Oilers have to do to move up? I mean, we suck and we've sucked all year but we've gotten better than last year. I'm not trying to make the joke of the Oilers always being bad but they have McDavid back, they have a new coach, a new GM. We're in the boat of we need one more winger and a couple defensemen but 1 draft and a decent offseason and we feel we can try to contend.

What do they need to do? I don't think another #1 pick is going to help them. If they win the lottery, do they trade down or trade someone that they wouldn't without it?

And for the record, I would take a chance on cowen. If it doesn't work out. He is gone at the end if next season anyways.

This has nothing to do with his capabilities, IMO. It has to do with Toronto icing the worst possible team they can.
