Capitals place Brooks Laich on waivers
Brooks Laich, placed on waivers today by the #caps, has one season remaining beyond this one with a $4.5M cap hit ($4M in actual salary).
Making room?
If Brooks Laich clears waivers and is assigned to AHL, #Caps will clear $950,000 annual space, enough to activate Jay Beagle from LTIR.
Guess not. |

Very interesting! Hammer would be a great fit for them. I know JB really wants to get a d-man back, but I'm secretly hoping for vrana. |

Sekac claimed off waivers by Yotes
Apparently only 6 teams didn't try to pull him off waivers. Vancouver put in a bid according to General Fanager |

Would you guys be interested in Yak? Seems like you guys have done alright with Bearschi. This could be Bearschi 2.0. |

JB only wants d men now... The oilers could offer mcjesus and JB would still reject it because it's not a defenseman. |

I'm trying to save my speech in case JB does something really (frank)ing stupid by the deadline. Not good for the blood pressure if you fight all the battles |

They sure do need to move Edler - Bullfrog77
You don't say?
Why, pray tell.... actually don't
If we are minus Edler or Hamhuis at the start of next season we will be looking at a top 2 pick.
Need to resign him either as a UFA or if he doesn't waive then lowball him. |

Do you see a problem with picking 2 nd overall?

I really hope that Hansen is traded for the right deal. We have said for weeks he will bring back the best return. - VANTEL
There is no way he should get a better return than hamhuis could ...he is having a career year at 30 with the twins ...I think fans are overvaluing him a bit ...also I think hamhuis is being undervalued by mist of the media outside Vancouver |

It is 2 days before the deadline and he hasn't waived. That is the big difference

And the teams which are willing to pay the price are dwindling. |

Still his value if he waived would be far greater than Hansen ... |

There is nothing going on in Twitter from the insiders, zero mentioning other than a few hopeful fans.
I don't see Hamhuis as they type to make a snap decision on a last minute offer. |

Sounds like Russell is going to be a bruin or penguin so there's one more D man most likely off the market if true |

Not this year, but I am against formulating a (tank)lineup at the beginning of the year that is Oilerish in competability.
Without Hamhuis Our top 6 (no good UFA's this year) would be
Edler Tanev
Sbisa Hutton
Peden Biega
Tyk/Larsen
With Hamhuis
Edler Tanev
Hamhuis Hutton
Sbisa Biega
Peden/Larson
Peden might be a player, as may be Larson, keep the depth. Start Tyk in the A until he's ready. Trade someone if he is. Asset management
Hamhuis> Biega, Sbisa, Peden, Larson, Hutton(for now at least) |

Yes and it would be far lesser if he didn't waive, which he hasn't done yet.
I know his value. I don't see him waiving. He has never given one indication about being excited to take a run at a cup. He has come out and said he likes it in Vancouver.
If it happens it happens |
