Yes and it would be far lesser if he didn't waive, which he hasn't done yet.

I know his value. I don't see him waiving. He has never given one indication about being excited to take a run at a cup. He has come out and said he likes it in Vancouver.

If it happens it happens

Is there chance of an edler deal anytime soon ? What's his NTC or NMC like ?

Not this year, but I am against formulating a (tank)lineup at the beginning of the year that is Oilerish in competability.
Without Hamhuis Our top 6 (no good UFA's this year) would be
Edler Tanev
Sbisa Hutton
Peden Biega
Tyk/Larsen

With Hamhuis

Edler Tanev
Hamhuis Hutton
Sbisa Biega
Peden/Larson

Peden might be a player, as may be Larson, keep the depth. Start Tyk in the A until he's ready. Trade someone if he is. Asset management
Hamhuis> Biega, Sbisa, Peden, Larson, Hutton(for now at least)

It is not a tanking lineup , it is a rebuilding lineup. Bringing in/back players to bring you up to a bubble team is horrible management.

If he waives it is only because he want's to help the Canucks get better. He would rather play for the Canucks then win a cup.
If he waives we should reward that loyalty with a contract, maybe a one year deal, trade if we suck balls again, rinse repeat.
or a 3 year deal under market value, say 3 x 3

if he won't waive because he loves it soooo much here then we should lowballhim for 3 x 2.5.

On the open market he is worth more then say, bieksa.
I'd say he would get a 4year x 4.5-5 million deal on the open market.

Don't call me crazy.

I have heard over and over from McIntyre Valk Willes that hockey is not the most important thing in Hamhuis's life. Money is not an issue.

When you hear it over and over it tells you something.

Benning has come out and said don't expect much and the media (those three mentioned ) have said the same thing. Sometimes it is better to listen to what the tea leaves are showing.

His career earnings are more than enough ...if he truly wants to stay in van and win in van he should take a hometown discount and nothing over 4 years ...with the intentions of him getting one year deals after this until he retires a Canuck

Having Sbisa in the 3 spot is a tanking lineup. Only the oilers/leafs would have a worst defensive corps.
Bringing in one or 2 new players each year is how you rebuild. Jettisoning all the veteran talent on the team is how you tank.
No point in going full Tank unless we haven't replaced the twins and they retire.

The very fact that Benning is not "pressuring him" and "leaving the decision up to him" seems to indicate his intent on resigning him.

Look for a contract announcement at 3PM on Monday

top 4 then
Sbisa may be better then Hutton if they are paired, however if paired with a defencive specialist like Hammer then Hutton is better then Sbisa

With current players under contract

Edler Tanev
Hutton Trade/UFA
Sbisa Biega

Pedan Tryamkin Larsen

The left side is saturated with Dmen . This is a poop squad.

What I would like is to trade Edler packaged for a player/s like Vatanen Gudbrandson Hamonic . Then I bring back Hamhuis

I bet you that a new Hamhuis contract will be more then the $4.5m he is currently getting.

Why is Hutton playing top pair with Tanev instead of Hamhuis?
