I hope JB is standing firm, Hamhuis isnt the type of player we should be selling for scraps, he WILL resign here if the last couple weeks are any indication. |

There is not a lot that needs to be done next year. Most of the spots are filled. A healthy team will be a competitive team.
We can make a few adjustments through a trade or two , and we have lots of cap space |

Hansen for Vatanen
We have Sutter coming back Next year to play with the Twins.
We have Rodin to be signed, and Gaunce to be promoted. Don't hang on to Hansen , his value will never be higher. - VANTEL
Would be a great deal |

If you could get Nichushkin out of Dallas for Hamhuis, would you do it? |

Hansen and hamhuis for Theodore and a 2nd. - dbot

A 2nd round pick isnt enough for hamhuis imo, given the holes that it will leave us next season. A 2nd rounder isnt going to solve our top 4 issues, and getting rid of one of our 3 legitimate top 4 players (I dont count hutton yet) for a draft pick that wont help our team for years just isnt worth it. |

yes. with his size, he is the model for Benning wingers, it means we could package a guy like hansen (our rw depth would be solid) for a guy to replace hammer. My issue is trading Hamhuis for anoyone other than young roster players with upside. |

Thats another one that I would do. If the ladd deal is any indication we could possibly get that or Honka |

I'd be okay with Oleksiak+ another smaller piece for hamhuis. I know people hate him the last couple season, but he is a monster, insert him into our bottom pairing. |

Im pretty sure hamhuis will be come back next season, just from what he has been saying in the media. |

true true, and that's why I'm not too unhappy if he does get traded, it seems like he really really loves BC (i think he is part owner of a junior team up north?) plus young children. I could see him going to dallas for a run, then coming back in the summer for a good 3m aav deal. that would be so ideal for the canucks! which is why I would really want one or two of Dallas's AHL defensemen (like oleksiak/honka) there is definitely a deal to be made. But you have to remember.... Dallas and Van HAAATE each other. |

Ya but being a millionaire helps, honestly its not a bad deal 4 months isnt so bad, its not like h actually has to move his family to like Buffalo or something. Kids can stay in school, summer break, honestly it seems like a good deal for hamhuis, but I get the feeling he's a home-body. I dont see him leaving. |

Of course but you know Dallas will never even consider that. |
