I'm just being a knob, I don't honestly give a shlt about his vocabulary. - CubanBuffet
I don't disagree...listening to his interviews are tough. I feel bad for him. That being said, if you filter through the often confusing content I agree with the underlying message. Also, that's why Linden is taking on more and more of the interviews. Nothing wrong with that. Let's let JB focus on building a future cup champion |

Look forward to Pedan next year.
Impressed with him so far n maybe Subban would make a good pair.
Does Subban get a serious look?. - Nighthawk
Of course he deserves it - I think it's safe to say he's exceeding expectations (like his bro) - even though he's a little lighter than PK was at that age, he's putting up similar numbers in his freshmen year - he got time to put on size too and improve defensively

I have Chychrun, Juolevi and Sergachev are my top 3 D picks. If Laine is available still... dont take D.
- boonerbuck
If we pick in the top 3 it's a forward. Laine won't be around past that. 1st D probably won't go till 5/6. |

The problem is that the public aspect of his job is to be a bullshlt artist, which is not his strong point. Things would be a lot smoother for him if he was, but it doesn't effect the type of decisions he makes. |

Nothing yet hey...hopefully tomorrow Benning pulls the trigger on a few moves. Was reading Twitter earlier about Hamhuis, really hoping it came true. |

He sees things we don't. Don't get me wrong I am not in love with Sbisa's salary but when we got him Canucks Fandom said are you serious. He was the butt end of every joke. This year fans are saying hmmmmm he doesn't look bad. I remember when he was injured fans here were saying yeah but we are missing Sbisa.
He honestly knows a lot more than us. - VANTEL
This song was written about Jim Benning, FA, the media and fans, I swear...
Chip
Chip worked as a boatwright
As his father and his gran
Working in a boatyard
Building on the River Thames
One day Chip was hard at work
The Devil appeared from hell
He held a roll of copper
And a bucket full of nails
The Devil said unto Chip
Take these nails and copper roll
But you also have to take this rat
And I will take your soul
Chip despised the rat
The rat squealed and hissed
But the bucket o' nails and copper
Were too much to resist
Chip went straight to work
He'd get rid of the rat
And there would not be a problem
With his death after the fact
But the devil rat wouldn't die
No matter how hard he tried
The rat attacked the boatwright
And he bit him in the eye
It seemed as if the river rats
Fell under Satan's spell
They followed Chip around
And made his life a living hell
He slowly lost his mind
He lost his family
He lost his job
And had to join the Kings' Navy
A lemon grows a pip
A yard will build a ship
As Satan is my master
I will get you Chip
A lemon grows a pip
A yard will build a ship
As Satan is my master
I'm gonna get you
The rats chased Chip
Up the gangplank of the ship
They bit him and they tortured him
Until he finally flipped
He sniveled to the captain
To turn around the rig
The captain spied his madness
And chucked him in the brig
Now the devil rat had his man
He knew just what to do
He'd command the rats
And through the planks they'd chew
The water rushed in
The ship went down
She was smashed around the rocks
On which the rats danced around
A lemon grows a pip
A yard will build a ship
As Satan is my master
I will get you Chip
A lemon grows a pip
A yard will build a ship
As Satan is my master
I will get you Chip
A lemon grows a pip
A yard will build a ship
As Satan is my master
I will get you Chip
A lemon grows a pip
A yard will build a ship
As Satan is my master
I'll get you Chip

I still think the only trade he lost was Kassian.
As you know I like Vey
I like the Kesler trade
I like Sven trade
I like the Granlund trade. I think Shink will be Shroeder.
I like the Etem trade. |

I see FA as more about money than Winning in that order.
Also he had a hand in Torts n that hurt us for players value.
Essentially a year wiped out.
The 2nd rounder a nice bonus. |

I don't like the Sutter trade, he gave up too much, but I like having Sutter on the team. Nothing earth shattering though.
Clendening for Forsling was a waste as well. |

I like the Sven and Kesler deals, Vey not so much but I understand the reasoning behind the move. Granlund has played one game so I couldn't say either way and we got Etem for Jensen, so that's a hard deal to lose. |

If Prust didn't ruin his ankle we could have traded him for a 3rd at the deadline...so a 5th for a 3rd. Oh well |

It's incredibly tough to win this one I think. JB has a reputation to build and protect. If he comes out looking good on the Kassian trade, it means someone on the other side probably is getting played. We didnt know he already was in phase 1 of the substance abuse program but the other GM were probably well aware.
After Kassian completed phase 1... what ever that is, the Canucks have to let him on the team or send him to the farm team... the NHLPA would make a complaint otherwise. There was no way to keep him away from our other players even if he wasnt playing. Can't isolate him so they had to give up a 5th to get a roster player for him... this is one of those trades you can't win imo. You just have to do it.

Sutter was a clean win
Bonino useless
Clendenning AHL player
2 nd we got back a third
So in my eyes Sutter and a third for a second
Yes we also lost the Clendenning trade but we needed a stop gap . He was more like a cup of coffee stay |

Agree
Sutter a big upgrade on Bonino n idc about contract.
Better size n toughness n versatility.
Clendenning is easily replaced by many other D we have. |

I would love to play poker w Benning - CanuckDon
Too many people are upset that Benning cant follow the script that the media had laid out years ahead of him. He's taking his own path.
He doesnt even try hard to sell the BS he says to the media. With no emotion he claims the playoffs are always the priority. For an entire season we get the media towing this bandwagon of fans yelling liar and failure.
What are you going to do... probably just ignore it and do your job. If he wants to be a successful GM, learning to cater to the plan rather than the "rats" will keep the ship off the rocks. |
