uhm he's a college player who's never played an NHL game? We dont even know for sure if he's going to come to Utice next season, let alone NHL ready. He's solid, but he can still elect to finish school. I reserve judgement on college players till I see them play in the big leagues, they can be hit or miss.

I think he meant our whole team dynamic would be different (less money to spend on Fwds).

Either way, it was time for both of those guys to go.
Just like it's time for another Dman to go (looking at you Hamhuis).
If Hammy resigns in offseason, that's fine, but we'd need to move Edler on.
This is actually my preferred solution.

yup, way to back me up.... did you predict hutton would be an excellent rookie in the top 4 this season? Didnt think so.... you probably liked corrado, like the rest of us. Just saying, NCAA players have to be a pleasant surprise, you cant build around them until they are actually on your team. So lets just save the Demko hype until we see him in Utica

They flipped the Garrison pick for Linden Vey and the Bieksa pick is in 2017 if I'm not mistaken

Hutton was a pleasant surprise this year, but we're dreaming if we think 2 rookies can just walk into the top 6 next year.

Like someone already said, it will be NHL or waivers for those players next year. Ditto for Etem,Vey, Granlund, Grenier, Kenins Friesen, Zaleweski, Cannata if resigned.

I expect next year we start the year with a lot of kids and a lot of cap space.

so we got zip and lost 2 top 4 d men, arguable with a couple good seasons left. And that's my problem with trading Hamhuis, draft pick are all fine and dandy, but its not a player that can play on your team any time soon.... in this case, we got Linden Vey and Brisebois for Bieksa and Garrison, absolutely terrible. And here a lot of you are, trying to seel hamhuis for a 2nd and a terrible prospect, no thanks, I'll keep my olympic gold medallist.

The Demko was on me.

Mentioned because of pending UFA status of Miller and Markstrom... If Demko is the future, how long of a contract will Markstrom be offered? 2-3 years? Would he want to bail to another team? Miller might actually do a 1 or 2 year extension... I'd prefer to go with Markstrom, but not sure what JB would prefer.

Anyone know why Markstrom aint at practice?
