Teddy Prucel to Fla for a 3rd.
Not a great return imo. - dbot
Hudler as well I heard, lessens the Vrbata market -.- |

They flipped the Garrison pick for Linden Vey and the Bieksa pick is in 2017 if I'm not mistaken - dilly
The Bieksa pick went to Pitt in the Sutter deal |

Like someone already said, it will be NHL or waivers for those players next year. Ditto for Etem,Vey, Granlund, Grenier, Kenins Friesen, Zaleweski, Cannata if resigned.
I expect next year we start the year with a lot of kids and a lot of cap space.
Sedin Sedin Hansen
Baertschi Horvat Virtanen
Etem Granlund Vey
Burrows Sutter Dorsett
Edler Yandle
Hutton Tanev
Sbisa Larsson
Pedan Beiga - belcherbd
We can always move some of the waiver eligible players and the others we can waive at the start of the season (like we did with Markstrom last year). They don't all have to play. |

garrison turned in to vey because we dealt that 2nd for him but it should have been roland mckweon.
bieksa was that gilluam brisbois guy - mauryballstein
Brisbois was the 3rd in the Lack deal, Bieksa was 2016 2nd that was included in Sutter deal. |

The Demko was on me.
Mentioned because of pending UFA status of Miller and Markstrom... If Demko is the future, how long of a contract will Markstrom be offered? 2-3 years? Would he want to bail to another team? Miller might actually do a 1 or 2 year extension... I'd prefer to go with Markstrom, but not sure what JB would prefer. - hillbillydeluxe
Dont get me wrong, Demko has the pedigree, I'm totally okay with a Markstrom/ Demko duo, I think its a good idea have 2 young goalies, good chance 1 will work out. But trading markstrom (as the other guy wanted) would be a mistake, we have a good carry over plan with goalies right now, un less its trading Miller to get rid of salary, we should just leave our goalies alone, its not our problem. But obviously is markstrom is fed up near the end, we'd have to trade him, I think we learned from Kesler you just gotta trade while the value is high |

He has the flu. I was at the practice, coach said he's got the flu so the team physio played in net for practice.
Horvat scored a sick shootout goal on Miller.

so we got zip and lost 2 top 4 d men, arguable with a couple good seasons left. And that's my problem with trading Hamhuis, draft pick are all fine and dandy, but its not a player that can play on your team any time soon.... in this case, we got Linden Vey and Brisebois for Bieksa and Garrison, absolutely terrible. And here a lot of you are, trying to seel hamhuis for a 2nd and a terrible prospect, no thanks, I'll keep my olympic gold medallist. - Crazybagoham
the trade was brutal.. meckweon would be our best dman prospect.. brisbois who knows if he will ever do anything..
to me thats exactly why we trade hamhuis is becuase our defense is so brutal, chances are he will resign here in the summer anyway. this team is so far gone it doesnt matter playoffs wont be happening for years unfortunately. Im hoping benning can land a nice prospect with the deal something similar to ladd but even the polak deal of two 2nds id be happy with |

So, hudler and Purcell for 2nd, 3rd, 4th.
That's not too much for Fla to give up imo.
So decent depth for them to make a run. |

I know eh?
Hamhuis-Tanev
Garrison-Bieksa
Hutton-Sbisa
Biega-Bart depth
That's a pretty solid top 6, but hey I dont watch games :p - Crazybagoham
The PA system at Rogers Arena should have played the Benny Hill music everytime he stepped on the ice last year. He was that bad.
If they could've sorted out the $1.5 - $2MM difference I'd prefer to have Garrison in there over Sbisa. A little more sound defensively and would have helped their power play to have at least one shooter in the lineup. |

I'm aware of that and I imagine some will be signed as ahl talent and hope they clear. I doubt the take the risk with Granlund, Etem, Vey,Pedan,or Larsson to begin with though. |

sure, but half the debate is guessing what JB will do... many on here, myself included, would have been fine with Lack and Markstrom, but JB wasn't... |

That's right, thanks for digging that up for me! Brisebois was a good pick, but we made some big holes with those trade, I like sutter, but we never needed him, what a mess haha, doubtful Benning trades Vrbata, WD is talking like he's waiting for him to come back to the lineup. I dont mind any of the trades lately from benning, small trades that wont really hurt the team, its really the giving away of defensemen that bugs me. |

WD pisses me of more than JB, but its a small margin haha. If they "stay pat" like the organization has been doing for 5 years, I would think owners step in. This organization seems incapable of making a trade. |
