Sure, I don't disagree. I still have yet to see anyone dispute that even strength scoring is more important. No one said special teams don't matter. They just aren't as important as they used to be - sbroads24

so many games are a 1 goal game
one team goes 1/3 on pp
the other goes 0/4, and loses the game by a goal
every point counts, esp when you have 16 teams in the east
if special teams don't matter much, how come every freaking time there is a key to the game from the networks, special teams always comes up - homiedclown

Better version of Girgensons. Has an eye for the net. If we could get him I'd trade Girgensons for a defenceman - bluengold12
He'll probably end up in Edmonton. They have a lot of picks to offer. I get the feeling Murray wants one of the D men from Anaheim. That would seem to be his focus, along with moving some of the UFA's.
doesn't change the fact if the sabres had a pulse on the pp, they grab at least a point vs the ducks on thursday
3 points this month, 3 points that month, will be the difference between this team being in the top 8 or a lottery team next season
hell if they didn't suck so much in the shoot out, a few more timely pp goals and pk's, they could be knocking on the door this season
of course those pp goals don't matter - homiedclown
It's one thing to have a good powerplay, but timely? So if they score early on it's no good but if it comes in the final minute after 7 missed opportunities it's golden?
The best PP in the league sits at 23.3%, we're at 19.6. Even if we were tops and those extra few percent were timely goals that gave us points we'd still be an awful team and well out of a playoff spot.
Special teams matter but nowhere near the level that 5v5 does.
