The research is easy. I posted it earlier. The teams that score a high % of there goals on the PP are a lot of the lower scoring teams.

There is literally no disputing that 5 on 5 is twice as important as special teams. Any dispute would be anecdotal. Like pointing out singular games and using them as examples.

I am sure tomorrow the kings coach will do nothing to address their special teams in their practice, because he is ok giving up 3 pp goals since they played the ducks even for 5 on 5 tonight

Fwiw anecdotal evidence is every bit as legitimate as empirical.

In fact it tends to be more valuable in determining causal relationships, because it's less isolated and less likely to suggest false positives.
