As much as I want to see the big splash...
...i'm gonna say it remains quiet:
McGinn for a 2nd
Johnson for a 6th/7th
I have a feeling draft day is going to be much more entertaining
Prove me wrong GMTM!

Just wondering what anyone thinks the Ducks' Shea Theodore would cost? I don't think Lindholm or Fowler make sense since they're both roster players ... |

With their internal cap and need for a forward I think them being roster players is exactly why one of them will be moved, theodore would replace whichever one leaves. |

Who is Johnson being traded to? All teams that needed a goalie went out and got one. |

Pretty much....like i said 6th/7th...there is no market for him but as we've seen GMTM really likes his picks and has stated that he won't let UFA's walk for free
UNLESS he intends to resign Johnson and give Ullmark another year in the AHL...which I wouldn't be terribly opposed to |

Yeah, I'm not trying to disagree. If it was me, I would leave the roster alone because of how the team is rolling right now. B Murray might get some funny looks if he breaks that up and the team slows down or bows out early in the playoffs.
I would think if Fowler gets moved it would be on draft day for that reason.
What about them parting with Simon Despres? What is his value? |

I agree today will be slow, not convinced draft will be big. Sabres are 18th in the league for GA without their #1 goalie for most of the year. Last 2 losses were 1-0 and 2-0. The game we won in between we gave up 1 goal. I get we don't have a great defense but I'm not convinced when people say a defenseman is our most pressing issue.
Scoring winger can be found in the draft without giving up an asset as well. Draft top 7 and you'll have a pretty good guy. Draft top 5 and that pretty good guy might be able to make an impact next year. Top 3 and you might get a star.
More or less this team will be what we try to make the playoffs with next year. A healthy Lehner, Sam and Jack with a year under their belts, the entire team with a year of knowing Dan's system. Wouldn't expect much more than that. |

Panthers are the only realistic option of the bunch, IMO.
Rangers have 0 cap space.
Habs have begun the selling of players.
Bruins are set at goalie. |

Honestly wouldn't expect much of anything. Johnson might be our biggest deal of the day. Talking about getting Hall and Lindholm is nice deadline talk but I'd be surprised if anything more than a 2nd comes back and that'd have to be the McGinn trade.
This is the team we'll run with next year more or less. - Zschalberg

The biggest need is to get the ace sniper so that other guys can play in roles that fit them more naturally. I think we get that at the draft.
We also need a top 4 LHD, but I don't see that happening with what we have to give.
Bottom line: slow day today. UFA's out for middling and low picks. Bigger action on draft day in BUF. |

I don't imagine another big move. Last year was our big year. We traded for O'Reilly and Kane, 2 top 6 guys. Depleted the higher end talent from the minors. Even the top pick this year is looking like he'll go straight to the NHL. There's no blockbuster that's going to happen. I'm not saying we're going to act like Darcy but we did our big deals last year. This year is the complementary pieces. |

Honestly with Pysyk, Risto, McCabe, & Bogo...I would let them go until next year's trade deadline then evaluate our needs at that time
As much as I would love to make a cup run next year, being realistic about it I would be satisfied with a 1st round exit |

Exactly. No need to spend a pick and a player for a winger when we have it for a pick.
The defenseman depends on what we think the players we have will do. Get get a 3-4 guy but might just as easily get a 5-6 guy and roll with it. Ennis would be the name I'd expect to see on the draft day but that's only if he can maybe play 10 games this year and look like the 2011-2014 Tyler Ennis |
