Tyson Barre on waivers, would he be a good depth D? Cole would def have to be moved. Same cap hit - nh4442
That can't be true. If so, the Pens absolutely have to hop on that... |

What are the Pens doing? They have traded away much of the past and future draft picks. Their recent addition of Shultz adds a player who never reached his potential since he entered the NHL. This year he has been awful. The Pens will be fortunate to get past the first round. They have 4-5 world class players. The rest wouldn't stand out in the AHL.
The Pens will be in serious trouble in 3-4-5 years. Sid and Geno 30+. Phat Phil will have eaten himself out of the league - EugenesAxe

If the Pens claimed him, he would immediately be the #2 Dman on the team. |

Just seen highlights from yesterday's game with Tyson barrie and said he would be a great fit in Pittsburgh but that's gotta be wrong no way he could be on waivers |

I missed that one. I Love Barrie's game. I actually Would rather to after him than J.Schultz.
Can we get both? Lol
Btw....Purcell would've been a Nice addition. |

Not that he is on waivers in the first place but EDM would claim him and he would be their 1D. |

if they can move Plot and Zats for picks, this deal looks even better. I know Kunitz has been better, but I am ok with them trading him at this point...I know Sid will be upset, but logo first. - Thorny
Kunitz isn't producing a lot, but who is replacing him? LW is a team weakness. There'd have to be another move to replace him. |

Who's fatmarsh? Pens couldn't afford to claim Barrie in this hypothetical either. |

I thought Barrie was In play. The cost wouldn't be low though. Pouliot+ Would have to go the other way for sure. |

Does it usually workout for players that dont sign with the team that drafted them? |

Great article , I'm from Calgary and have a chance to see our new guy a few times , tonnes of potential , I look at this as essentually getting a prosper for a 3rd round pick . He gets a 25-35 game tryout and then Pittsburgh can let him walk if they want to . The goal was to get puck moving defencemen and you can't argue that GMJR has been able to do it ! |

All indications point toward Eric Staal going to the New York Rangers. Approvals required, but seems likely. |

Carolina will have to retain like 50% salary so the price will probably be a lot to NYR.. |

I hope Francis takes Gorton to the cleaners. Every major prospect and a 2nd rounder would be perfect. |

@iloveeveryone. True, the Pens picked top 5 in in the 2002, 03, 04, 05 and 06 draft. However, the Pens have missed the playoffs only 4 times since the 90/91 season. They've won the Cup 3 times in that period. They have been one of the most consistently competitive organizations in the last 25 years. So, take all of your high end players, in whom your franchise has destroyed most of them, and go back to your frigid North. |
