Murray is up to play, that can only mean Zatkoff isn't going to play and probably not even dress. I realize the value of Zatkoff couldn't be lower but I have to think he is on a one ticket outta Pittsburgh even if it is to WBS.

I love the MORONS who think getting Schultz is a bad move. How many third round draft picks are playing a positive role in the success of their team......5 years from now. Answer ZERO. This guy was put in a very awkward role in Oilerville. That team is a disaster. No leadership and a bunch of young guys trying to figure out how to WIN in an impossible situation. There is very little downside to this trade. Schultz will be put in a situation where he can learn how to win with guys who already know how. Gonch will help him and the best thing that could happen to him was getting out of Edmonton. You people who criticize are those who think they know it all. When in fact you don't know crap. That is why YOU are not a GM and working (maybe) at a job that keeps you off of welfare.

Thought GMJR said he has no issues with carrying 3 goalies on the roster. I know it rarely happens, but if they trade JZ, and MAF or MM get hurt, I would probably be more comfortable wtih JZ than TJ. I do think JZ has a better chance at clearing waivers after the deadline than before.

1 out of every 5 players drafted in the third round MAKE the NHL let alone turn out to be great... The pick should be a late 3rd, hopefully the last in the round, and it's a small price for a possible starter. Give him a few games before ruling it a bad trade.

the Pensblog actually had an interesting way of looking at this trade. About 20% of 3rd round picks play over 100 NHL games. So we're essentially saying, does Schultz have a greater than 20% chance of being useful? And, of course, we dont have to wait 3 years to find out.

Pirri is a nice player, kind of a power play specialist. He would be an upgrade to the Left Wing position, IMHO. The only question I have is how long is he going to out.

For the people female doging about the 3rd round pick and giving examples...for every 3 round pick that makes the NHL, there are what? 5 that don't....I just don't understand the complaining. I will hold off on my judgement till the off season to see what happens.

I had him pegged as a sleeper in my fantasy league. As I said before I like him, I really don't think Florida is actively shopping him. He is young, on a good contract, although it is up at the end of this year and he is still an RFA.
