Higgins is known as a playoff guy. What if the previous statements about him planning to retire after this season are true and his agent has confirmed that to Chicago? They get some insurance depth for this year and a large cap dump for next year. That's a pretty big plus for them and would maybe justify a better prospect than the rentals on their own. Would Aquilini be willing to step up and pay the extra waste salary, in effect buying a quality prospect?

I think Higgins is invisible in the playoffs. I know him as regular season guy who disappears in the 2nd half of the season. He might be a good AHL playoff guy though...
