I don't think he's terrible but there's better options out there IMO. He's developing the kids nicely but IMO he mismanages the game at times.

He's working in the NHL though, and I'm not, just my observation. And others as well.

I tend to think at this point, if Hamhuis and Vrbata haven't been moved, I don't see a deal at the 11th hour happening. Sad as that is, I think what few assets we have are just so devalued in the eyes of the other GMs that Benning is either getting lowballed, or what deals he's getting if he takes will hamper us cap-wise going forwards.

Hopefully but benning should look to take back some bad salary if he can get extra picks or better prospects out o the deal. Toronto is doing things the smart way.

1. 3/4s of his Hamhuis's contract will have been paid out by tomorrow.
2. Of the remainder, Vancouver will most likely take some back.
3. He is a UFA.

They don't have goaltending or D n this draft is not deep enough to fix it.
Lou will package picks up to get more quality IMO.
Otherwise the rebuild will go as planned at best be 5-6yrs.
Next year will be a guide on how the rebuild has moved forward.
