JB is safe this TDL. Hands r tied with Hamhuis n Vrbata somewhat.
We get what he gets offered n guessing he has 2-3 offers to mull over.
Q is more about if Vrbata is getting nibbles or any others eg Burrows x fingers.
I see no reason we cannot salary on any vet other than Hansen. - Nighthawk
How are his hands tied??? This boggles my mind. Top 4 defesman have always brought back a significant return at the trade deadline. If benning can't gget it done, then he hasn't done his job. |

He hasn't been asked to waive. Do actually think Benning is working the phones and has kept Hamhuis in the dark the whole time? I'm sure there has been lots of communication between the two camps. He will be asked to waive once a deal is completely in place. - fiveandagame

He traded Kesler and BXA for a good return considering. He will do it again. |

I think he can, especially there's only one serious offer...if teams are offering high second round 45+ and then another team steps in and offers a 1st, but is not desirable to Hamhuis, you're going to blame JB.
Or should Benning take that 45th overall to Hamhuis and say interested...you'd go apepoop - Makita
If say Hammer is willing ot go to 3 teams(JB knows who he would waive for by now or he isn't doing his job) and JB is only talking to the other 26 teams, then yes it is his fault. If JB is talking to those 3 teams primarily and can't find a deal, then it is his fault. JB's hands are tied by an NTC, but unless Hammer is 100% not willing to waive, everything else is JB's fault. |

Highly unlikely...Benning likely hasn't made any calls regarding Hamhuis as he is quietly trying to load up on UFA's for a playoff push |

Hamhuis isnt going to waive for a trade that works for Benning but doesn't work for Hamhuis. He wants to go to a team that's a contender. Out of those teams maybe a couple are willing o make a move maybe... JB can do his job and still end up with little.

Is there a line-up of teams willing to trade significant returns or is this just what you think should happen. And you do realize that it has to agree with Hamhuis not us as fans. |

why? You work the phones and your phone is ringing. if anything it is easier because Hammer is a good guy and give you a few options. |

No, but probably worded improperly. I mean to say that unless Hammer is fully unwilling to waive, and JB doesn't trade him for whatever reason, then it is his fault. There is no reason to keep him this season unless he wants to play here and only here until mid April. |
