Dallas close on Russell per Lebrun. Big mistake for Benning to let Russell go first, IMO. He'll be reacting to the market, rather than dictating it. |

I wouldn't mind if Benning did nothing at all so a few fringe fans would finally take the plunge and cheer for a different team. It would be so peaceful around here if we removed the asset management crowd - CanuckDon
You are dreaming bud, these fans are gutless, they don't have the balls to switch teams. They'll be here whining all summer long, it would be great if they all pulled a Phucker, but it ain't happening. |

That's why I asked if it was sarcasm...I'm having a hard time understanding why JB can be blamed if the supposedly 3 teams are not willing to give what Hamhuis is worth. If it's Dallas as DH said he'd like to go, you and everyone else like Hertzman are thinking take whatever you can get, I disagree, Hamhuis is worth more than 56th overall - Makita
Because it's easier to blame Benning without have a clue about what goes on from one GM war room to another. Way easier to assign blame and point fingers from the outside. |

Then it would be just the circle jerk gang and you guys can jerk on all day long about the canucks and mediocrity in general. Sounds like fun. - bloatedmosquito
Glad to see you are ready for the plunge! What's your backup team? |

I see it as his fault where as by 12pm today, if say the best those 3 teams offer is a 2nd and JB says "no I will just keep him and lose him for nothing if i don't resign him. Rather than get a 2nd for him now and still be able to resign him in July 1 if i want to."
EDIT: Btw I did respond to your sarcasm msg and clarified what I meant - Retinalz
You just take the best deal there is and move on. If he wants to sign him again in the summer im sure it wont be a problem. |

Well if you don't comment on all the constant complaining post, but you will on the people making excuses for Benning post...interesting.
I'm not making excuses for JB, I can't believe the naivety that if he can't get a good return it's his fault. - Makita
I don't think you are paying attention if you believe I haven't been calling out people for blaming Benning for idiotic reasons.
See my reactions on here following both the Granlund and Larsson trades......but hey if it makes you feel better paint me with whatever koolaid coloured brush you like.

It's kind of hard to dictate the market when you only have 3 customers instead of 29. |

No, but it is something that I consider an attribute of good management. Again I do think Benning will get something done today but as tiring as it is to hear people constantly complaining about every move or non move made, I find it equally annoying listening to people making excuses for Benning on every move or non move.
Like I said at some point he bears some responsibility and it isn't only the market, players, etc. that continues to be thrown around as why this team doesn't get much for it's players. - belcherbd

If Russell goes first then Benning will have one less competitor so he should be able to get more you'd think |

Only so many places he'll go, and now Dallas is likely no longer an option. |

If we might trade Hamhuis to Boston, then hopefully not for Khokhlachev (unless Vey is part of the deal) |
