Probably because you have Matthews in the cross hairs as well as 12 other picks in the draft this year.

So now the question on Vrbata. Do you 'shut him down' for the remainder of the season so he's not a negative influence on your kids? Or do you keep his ineffective ass in the lineup to intentionally end up with a worse record and a higher draft spot?

I htink you shut down henrik for the season and let him rest up for next season. Last thing we need is him getting a career ending injury due to him already being injured.

I was at the Av's game. It was surprisingly a good mood in there up in the 300's. a 5-1 win didn't hurt, but even at the start of the game it wasn't too bad.

Probably because they all got tickets for under $40/seat up there! I hope this downturn brings back the diehards into the building and filters out the stiffs. I have been to a few visiting arenas and Vancouver's in-house is just awful in comparison. You get dirty looks for yelling and cheering in some sections of Rogers

You know what I hated about Rogers Arena?

As soon as the team was a contender it became "the place to be". It sucks having to explain the rules of the game to the person beside you during a cup run.

In all seriousness though, with McDavid back in January they need to make a solid push for the playoffs. Show some growth so that guys actually can have faith in that group they have there. Columbus did it the year before, decimated by injuries and then went on a crazy run that helped management go get a guy like Saad and be active instead of just drafting and waiting

So Hamhuis throws Benning under the bus.
