Probably because they all got tickets for under $40/seat up there! I hope this downturn brings back the diehards into the building and filters out the stiffs. I have been to a few visiting arenas and Vancouver's in-house is just awful in comparison. You get dirty looks for yelling and cheering in some sections of Rogers

Had one obnoxious female genitalia sitting behind us. Kept bragging about how he "doesn't pay for tickets" and "doesn't even care about hockey" and "its just an excuse to meet pretty girls, like yourselves (says to bunch of dolled up ladies trying to enjoy the game)"

He ended up leaving halfway through the first, came back with like 10 left in the third for 5 minutes, sat silently and then let at the last TV timeout

You know what I hated about Rogers Arena?

As soon as the team was a contender it became "the place to be". It sucks having to explain the rules of the game to the person beside you during a cup run.

The first game I went to that was lower bowl and in line with the offensive zone faceoff dot I was seated next to a woman who sat out in the sight-line to the far end of the rink and was texting/facebooking and chatting to her date the whole time about everything else. Didnt watch a second of the game but blocked my view for 2 periods before they left. I was fuming
