So he was into waiving for Chicago and Dalllas and would have considered any other contender is the West...
Can't fault Hammer.
Good guy, good player, hope we re-sign him for a few years. |

Nice return for John Michael Liles
35 year old D-man with 3x the cap hit of Bartkowski and 7 years older and he got:
3rd
4th
prospect
I forgot what we got Bartkowski?

He doesn't deserve a new deal.
Should have said, if we trade you, then we will offer you a new deal.
Guy does NOT deserve a new contract offer. - classic321
wow... such a classy statement to a player who did not have to WAIVE poop considering he has a full NTC. A top 4 D-man who WANTS to play for this organization and city and is willing to again take a home-town discount to stay, and you are female doging about him? give your head a shake. |

Did Chicago and Dallas really even want Hamhuis? - fiveandagame
Would Chicago have made a last minute push if they didn't?
And Dallas is so desperate for defence they gave up three pieces for a player who spends more time in his own zone than Luca Sbisa |

So Hamhuis throws Benning under the bus.
#firebenning - Scooby_Doo
His strong point is his drafting though. Trades need working on. He's the total opposite of Burke |

People forget that when Hamhuis signed with the Canucks, his rights had already been traded twice and he signed for less in Vancouver. This is where he wants to be. - fiveandagame
yes, exactly. he doesn't need to waive. and he'll sign for less over the summer. although in fairness, if he was willing to waive he should have done so for any of the Pacific or Mountain timezone teams, plus Dallas. forget chicago....

Interesting that Chicago wanted Tim Jackman more than they wanted Prust. |

Bartkowski priced himself out of the market after last game. It's tough to come up with enough assets to acquire a potential Norris candidate. |

There were a lot of reports suggesting that calls were being made up until the deadline. If they weren't interested I doubt they would of been involved in calls.

CHI needed money to go back, obviously Jim Benning didn't want to do so. Mark my words, Benning signs Hamhuis to an extension at a good $ + term that works for both parties within the next couple weeks. |

thats a lot of info by hamhuis there
ill waive to 2 out of the other 29 teams?
ass hat - Lee Denault
Beats Sundin who was vilified for being honest n wanting to be the answer.
Dedication to ones team or ones family is not worth much it appears.
Character n loyalty r in short demand in todays sportsworld.
Teams not acknowledging class have none themselves n prolly why that regime was canned after their miserable failures year after year. No respect for players who earn NTC status does 't say much for a teams owner/management group. |

"Hamhuis doesn't deserve a new contract"
"Hamhuis is a jerk and a baby and blah blah blah blah"
"Hamhuis deserves a one way ticket to hell"
Pretty much everything that is said that makes our fanbase look like sh|t. Bashing a player who wants to stay and play for the Canucks and is yet again willing to negotiate a home town discount.... |

Are you sure it wasn't Benning making the last minute push?
Maybe Dallas targeted Russell because they feel they have a chance of signing him and didn't want to spend assets on a pure rental. |

Are you really going to start vilifying Hamhuis on this ?
He did waive for contenders but a deal didn't get done and that has nothing to do with Hamhuis. |

Is that on Benning because he didn't want to lose the cap space based on plans for July 1st, or owners who didn't want to pay extra millions for Bickell to play in Utica next year? |
