So every rookie that went on to a good or great career scored more than 4 goals in his first year? I'm pretty sure we can find a few players that scored around the same as him their rookie years and had pretty good careers.

maybe and maybe not... i've seen quite a few rookies this year score plenty over 4 some on much worse teams than Tampa's team last year. But as it's been pointed out there is just too much to question with Drouin and his "potential" we have plenty of "risk" on the team already... were going to draft a "potential" top winger I don't see the point in moving Girgs + for another question mark we'd have to develop

He is faster than Ennis.

I would take a 25 goal 55-65 point player in Drouin over Ennis all day every day

Ennis is not a good fix for this team...too much east west not enough north south and is a one man show out there.

Drouin is built the same way but doesn't play as much of a east west game

Drouin's style of play has potted 6 career goals, sitting out the AHL because he thinks he is too good, and now a trade.

You said he didn't play with anyone this year.... I showed he played with Elite players.

he only played 19 games and they were with that lineup. he was not even shown to be on any other lines.

I made my point man. He played with great talent.


Don't get me wrong. I like Drouin... but I don't think he is some Monster Beast 2nd coming of Gretzky player.

I bet he never has a 30+ goal season in the NHL. He will be an Ennis type player in this league I bet. A solid 2nd line pairing guy who can pot 20-25 goals with the right players. But can't play defense and is only as good as the players around him.

That is my point.

What were his stats with stamkos? Drouin had a stretch were he put up all his points, I'm guessing that's when he was with stamkos. I'll take skill over some who tries really hard, and comes up empty too often. Girgensons is mike Grier 2.0
