If that's the case hope you love having a losing team that is bottom 5 in goals for again and an arena that rivals Florida in terms of crowd level - bluengold12
Foligno & Larsson have been playing well the last couple weeks
And while u might want more scoring out of them as 3rd liners...
They are solid players
And it might not be too long before they're pretty damn good ""4th" liners
We've got a lot of young guys coming soon
I think you're overreacting here |

That was 2009, but as DK pointed out, it's not the real post itself |

Then idk what to tell you man. NHL 16 doesn't even let you trade garbage for anything. You think you're going to take 3 throw away pieces on the 29th team in the league and get goal scoring or a defensman. Not how things work. Less contracts, because that's limiting us from anything at all. a 5th and a 6th are just $1 scratch offs. If we got them, cool but I won't care that we didn't. - Zschalberg
Franson would fetch a 4th or 5th rounder Foligno 3rd or 4th Larsson 5th or 6th. I'd take all of those. Then with roster spots freed up try and take some risks on some players that aren't just sticks on a log and can contribute something positively to the team. |

if he hits july 1st he puts on a leaf jersey. Maybe Timmy knows something we don't and knows he has to acquire his rights and get him signed before he hits that date. Now it depends what else would be coming with Stamkos. Like i mentioned earlier if we have a good idea that he would sign here i could see us perhaps doing and sign and trade or acquiring his rights to move back in the first round in this years draft. Would you rather have a Laine, Puluarvi or stamkos and a late 1st. - Pegullaville
I don't agree. If he really wants to sign with Toronto, which has been disputed greatly here and elsewhere, he simply would ignore the fact Buffalo traded for his rights and wait the 10 days to sign with Toronto. So my answer is, I'd prefer Stamkos and Laine or Puluarvi. |

I don't disagree - I just wanted to point out that it might be better to just buy him out. - Slump Buster
It's not, because if we buy him out after next season, we'd have two years after his contract would've expired where we'd have ~$2M of dead money because of the buyout. Just eat the contract, stashing him in ROC would probably be the best of all options since he's only playing 7 minutes a night and you can replace his production for around $950K. As long as you have room for one more contract which we have 46 at the moment, so right now we do. |

Next year isn't the concern. The years after that are a concern.

Trying to have some good news I guess...

It has to be from around that time though. Someone making fun of a Sabre Buzzer. Unless if it was created in the 2nd year after the lockout. |

If you can't get rid of Gionta or Moulson that's two wasted roster spots. Foligno and Larsson are essentially defenceman. They have no scoring touch. I'm sick of settling for hard working defensive forwards. You have 3 on your team MAX. The rest need to have offensive upside. |

What? Who? Gionta is 4.25, Girgs doesn't have a contract, Marcus isn't signed, Larrson isn't signed. If we give all of them 4 million, yeah, but I doubt it. |

They can always make trades, the trade players just can't play in the playoffs after today. |

gionta, gorges, franson, are gone after next season. Moulson buyout more realistic after next season. We don't need to pay Eichel or Reinhart for another couple of seasons. Even potential for ennis and Kane's cap hits to be off the books by the end of the season as well. Tons of cap space and last time i checked unless your Pegula you're not paying the bills so there is nothing to worry about. |

Technically they always can, however, anyone traded after the deadline cannot play in the playoffs. |

It would be better than buying him out though. Buying him out extends his hit, and its not that big of a difference compared to waiving him.
However, if he has a NMC, can he be waived? - Mentalorgasm5
He just has a NTC. |

Even if the Leafs offer him 14mil a year...
I still seriously doubt that Stamkos would go there
It's pretty much come out that he doesn't wanna spend the next 3 years there losing
We'll be in the mix
Detroit, Philly, Montreal...
trying to think who else will make a play for him? |

Moulson goes to the AHL or is scratched, Gionta is on your 3rd or 4th line. Done. Foligno and Larsson are RFAs next year. There's no issue here. You're upset about our bottom 6 when our top 6 isn't even done yet. Let's worry about them first. |
