It does seem like a possibility
Murray still hasn't said "we're done" as far as I know - jdfitz77
It was just officially announced |

loading up on 2017 picks is probably a smart idea. Assuming the sabres flirt with a playoff spot at next years deadline, could have three 2nd rounders to play with (plus whatever you may get for Franson or Gorges) - Sabresfan-365

Difference is are RFA's are trash so I'd take guys for them to be good later. 3rd round picks when you have the draft on your own city. Only 1 1st and 1 2nd... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz - bluengold12
Yeah, they didn't trade Moulson and Foligno for all the 1st round picks that were flying left and right today. Unbelievable. |

It wouldn't surprise me if there was no real interest in Coliacovo or Franson, but I would have expected something, even something low, for CJ.
That feel like a miss by TM, but otherwise, the conditional 2d is pretty, pretty good. - Der Kaiser
I disagree Stempniak got a 2nd and 4th with no condition
JML got a 3rd and 5th
McGinn for a 3rd is, meh. |

This. This is also why it baffled me that people thought we would get something respectable for Legwand. |

A 7th does so little it doesn't even matter. Why uproot the guy for a pick that's going to be as effective as Tujimoto? |

Totally agree!
I'd actually rather have a 3rd in 2017, than a 3rd in this draft
So that it could actually become a 2nd next year is GREAT |

That would be pretty cool. I just don't want Ullmark only playing 20 games next year. - Wetbandit1
Yea like i said i wouldnt mind either way, johnson has been stellar for us this season and IMO has earned another year here.
Goalies are strange but if lehner continues this type of play for the rest of the season and comes in firing on all cylinders next season i think you go all in on him. In that case i would prefer ullmark in rochester being groomed in a starting role for a potential trade. We seem to have alot of goaltending all over the place. |

McGinn is also 3 times more expensive than Stempniak. Also I think they think McGinn will re-sign here. |

Hardly call tomorrow's game meaningless. At the very least entertaining

I'm pretty high on Petersen too
He's only a sophomore, so we can let him to continue to develop at Notre Dame for another year or 2 before we bring him to Rochester
Goalie was my #1 concern going into this season
I feel MUCH better about the position now |

Tomorrow nights game is very meaningless. If McDavid and Eichel each score it means very little.
After the last game. What happens for Buffalo? No playoffs, no reward. We get to sit and see where the lottery puts us.
I get to watch this team lose again, knowing the more they now lose the better. |

The only thing that could actually get me excited about Sabres games from here on out is if TM decides to start rotating in some of the youngsters |

Hahaha, touché
Even if we end up using the picks in 2017...
It fits our timeline better bc we have so many young guys coming up from all the picks Darcy had acquired over the last 3 seasons |

Its on now for sure. No real defining moves to suggest thats what we are aiming for but i cant imagine murray or anyone in the front office thinks going on a run is beneficial at this point.
I dont know how serious the oreilly injury is but they should just shut him down for the rest of the season. Make that your tank move |

What youngsters?
Also, it is probably best that they stay down on the farm where they can play more minutes. |

Im keeping an eye on Fasching. Depending on when his season is over, could see some NHL action. |

Any of them...I always enjoy seeing how prospects handle the pressure of playing with the big club...
but you are probably right...let them get the minutes in Roch |
