If we sign Stamkos its win now mode. A year of waiting is another year on contracts. We'd have pretty much no room to sign anyone other than Stamkos either.
I hope Ennis can get back and play decent to end the year. I think we'd have to look at Ennis, Pysyk/Guhle, 2017 first to even sniff a defenseman we'd want.

My pre-season pick was the Ducks, and then they were the worst team in the league and now they're among the best. I've always liked them. Probably because I grew up on the "Mighty Ducks" movies. I was 8 or 9 when the first one came out and it was like my second favorite movie of all time. My favorite was "Terminator 2" I watched that movie when I was like 6 years old. I still remember going to Video Factory to rent it with my mom and sister and then that opening with the flames "duh duh, duh, duh duh." "Duh duh, duh, duh duh". Can you imagine a 6 year old kid watching an equivalent movie today? The parents would probably get arrested. Anyway I'm getting totally off track. The Ducks never should've changed the eggplant jerseys. Those those thirds were something else though.

Nothings wrong, I'm more worried about contracts coming up. I'd rather try and make the push when young guys are on favorable terms. If Eichel plays with Stamkos he'll light it up and cost more , that's all. Our defense still isn't very good, I think making a big splash with Stamkos and then just sit on our current defense is moot. I just wanna make that push for a top 2 dman. If the players I mentioned aren't enough so be it, but I'd rather try than not. Trading midlevel prospects and picks probably isn't going to net much.
