Oh well, I am over it.
I think the big losers are Rogers/HNIC and TSN/TEAM 1040 as many will no longer be listening until Lions training camp. |

Would prefer Hedman over Stamkos myself. - mauryballstein
Me too. I suspect maybe Yzerman too. |

You do "the dreaded double offer" ---- you offer both McDavid and "Person B" huge offers knowing that they cannot cover both or totally screw their cap. - Beatle_john
It's going to cost a bunch of 1st round picks. You'd better be sure it's for a player that can elevate your team above lottery status. Imagine had Buffalo not matched the Vanek offer sheet?
4 first round picks, two of which became 1st overall. |

Sportsnet are the biggest losers. All that money spent for NHL rights and all of the Canadian teams suck. Guarantee you that they're losing money so far. |

It would be nice if you at least gave some reason as to why. Hedman seems like he is top-10 dman in the NHL. Stamkos maybe top10 center. Hedman is younger.

seems a little more far fetched idea than a UFA next year. |

Very few players can elevate a team like that. Elite goalie, elite #1C, or elite #1D. Even then, they need a decent supporting cast. I'd draft heavily on D and target McDavid.....max contract. Worst case scenario they match. |

TB has 7 RFA's n Stamkos to sign.
Moving out Bishop helps but not enough. $5.9m
Callahan Fillpula Condra r anchors.
Add to that the Drouin saga is a kick in the Nutz.
Fun Fun Fun in TB

Hedman's a really good (thanks willie) player and all but McDavid is a generational talent. |

A. you're depending on him reaching RFA status, which means he hasn't already been given a contract (this is a big reach).
B. its in three years from now.
C. You're valuing a move that sends 4 1st rounders over a move that we sign a #1 D for nothing... |

Oh well there you go, we just disagree. IMO Hedman is a generational D-man. |

Yes I am. It's a better fit IMO.
Good luck with Hedman. I bet TB values him as much if not more than Stamkos. |

Why the hell can't teams below the canucks win the odd bloody game, Toronto with their star studded prospects, Calgary with the coach of the year... Arizona come on...how is Vancouver to compete in the losing department if those bastards can't win the odd game |
