I really hope the crowd tonight starts chanting Benning sucks. Or boos a lot when we are getting hammered 5-0. - Scooby_Doo
this team is exactly the same as it was a month ago. We will lose 4-1 as usual. |

I think not bringing back Dan could happen but if he wants to resign for a lesser contract than say a sbisa then why not do it ...moving forward you have tanev and Hutton as your better D men for when horvat virtanen etc are becoming the more focal point ...edler will still be a decent option but isn't getting any younger ...after that its pretty thin ...lots of potential options but that's all they are - Redmile247
If Hamhuis is brought back, we will have a glut of left handed dmen. Hamhuis, Edler, Hutton, Sbisa and Pedan (who would require waivers next season). Maybe not the end of the world, just hate the excuses when sh!t goes wrong, management is likely going to want another righty for the top4.
Next season is going to be interesting just to see what Benning has done over the summer and hopefully Sutter and a few guys will be healthy and stay healthy. |

doesnt really matter lefty or righty, we need d men regardless, I can see hamhuis going to Calgary/Edmonton (somewhere close to his family) this summer, if mgt wanted to resign him to a low cap hit deal.... wouldnt they have done it before the deadline? I dont see benning renewing him at this point, seems too big of a mess and cant be good for the locker room. I personally dont think pedan is ready, but anything can happen in the summer I suppose |

almost spit out my coffee when you mentioned playoffs :p, I just meant it will be 3-0 till about 10 minutes left, then we'll see some compete from the sedins when it doesnt really matter and score 1, get cocky... pull miller.... empty net... haha.
I'd rather a 5-0 loss with all our kids in the lineup (like pedan/gaunce), but WD will trot out bart/vrbata/vey when it really matters and it will be business as usual |

I feel the same way, but when you watch or listen to a game, it is always discussed.
If Hamhuis resigns at a low cap hit, there will be some sort of ntc, maybe full for the first year and partial for the last if it is only 2 years.
If Pedan is put on waivers, I'd bet that free cup of Tim's I won, he will be claimed. |

agreed, if they offer hamhuis another contract, it will be a small AAV for 2-3 years and he'll just retire here one would think. I like this idea, then maybe we could trade Edler for a young righty? that would solve the lefty logjam |

Hutton has made huge strides this year ...I think the Canucks need to give some of the guys like pedan a legit tryout the rest of the way ...see if he is a nhler or ahler |

Yep, I think the consensus is, play the kids. Sooner or later, we will see it. People want to see the kids and there are tickets available, I might go to a couple games if they are cheap. |

If they wanted to trade him then why would they try to resign him first ?
How is a guy who wants to stay bad for the locker room ? A guy like vrbata I can see but not hamhuis |

Back when we were a playoff team, every fkn TDL, it was a sellers market. Now that we are not a playoff team and are sellers... it's a fkn buyers market.
Two more seasons before we are finally rid of Gillis' hold on this team's roster. |

No, rock bottom is when Oilers fans feel it is appropriate to troll you.
The biggest problem yesterday was not JB or the Canucks organization. The league has been steadily moving towards a scenario where a handful of teams believe they have a legitimate chance to win and the other 25 teams are actively tanking or selling or at least aren't giving up any futures to improve themselves. The cap stagnating will only make this worse. - Aetherial

are we over TDL yet? Can we move on considering its over and it can't be changed. I am really sick of the speculation of what we could have had considering it doesn't matter anymore. The real trades come at the draft anyway. |

I think the org might want a few more home wins, but sooner or later they have to look at what they have before the summer to decide which players deserve to be back.
I want to see Pedan in the lineup, don't want to see him in the same position Tinordi was in to start the season in Mtl.. |

You absolutely sign Dan Hamhuis if he is willing to resign. Hes a top 4 D-man who wants to wear a blue and green sweater. |

GMs finally are realizing how valuable picks are ...they used to hand them out for any grizzled vet for a playoff run but now they are keeping their picks to put to better use |

It's usually a great time to go see the team when they suck and are playing the youth. Good seats for really cheap. |

as if, I havent been able to afford a game in years. WD has shown that he likes Vets, and doesnt trust kids.... I'm hoping his attitude changes now that we arent remotely a playoff team... working with kids is why we got him. Horvats -30 worries me, all our young centers are just awful in the FO dot. WD needs to get them going for sure! they've made some strides, but not like some other rookies in the league. Next year is crunch time for both JB and WD, once these NMCs are off the team |

Craigslist supposedly had some around that price, saw that mentioned on global or bctv...
Even with the losing, the atmosphere appears better at Rogers Arena, comes across that way on tv anyway. |

every year the canucks are terrible, I think I can get some tickets for cheap. Ownership group needs to stop catering for yuppies in the city. You look at the lower bowl, maybe 1/10 are actually in a canucks jersey, rest are wearing clothes for the club. You look at calgary/washington/mtl lower bowl all you see is red. Lower th damn tickets so us real fans can come FA, there's no money in BC right now and the average fan cant actually go and enjoy a game. |
