It's usually a great time to go see the team when they suck and are playing the youth. Good seats for really cheap. - golfingsince
I can't afford to go otherwise, would bring my son along too, sucks to be me I guess... |

Yep, I think the consensus is, play the kids. Sooner or later, we will see it. People want to see the kids and there are tickets available, I might go to a couple games if they are cheap. - hillbillydeluxe
You can get lower bowl seats for $25 for tonight if you want |

If your putting stammer and lucic with guys like gaunce and pedan why are they signing with you ? Seems like only one option is viable - Redmile247
No Sh!t,
Hey would you rather...Stamkos, Crosby, Malkin, OV, Pedan and Tanev...or
Granlund, Etem, Vey, Hamhuis, Edler and Higgins....because you know the second choice is where were at and the first choice is where we should be |

every year the canucks are terrible, I think I can get some tickets for cheap. Ownership group needs to stop catering for yuppies in the city. You look at the lower bowl, maybe 1/10 are actually in a canucks jersey, rest are wearing clothes for the club. You look at calgary/washington/mtl lower bowl all you see is red. Lower th damn tickets so us real fans can come FA, there's no money in BC right now and the average fan cant actually go and enjoy a game. - Crazybagoham
Calgary has great fan support with their sea of red, but I believe MTL has seen a dip in attendance this season, maybe not when they were off to their best start in franchise history, but with Price being injured followed by their downward spiral, there have been numerous stories around all the empty seats there. |

You absolutely sign Dan Hamhuis if he is willing to resign. Hes a top 4 D-man who wants to wear a blue and green sweater. - Codes1087

So if you can trade one of pizza or edler and resign Dan you say no thanks ? - Redmile247
I'm ok with Spizza for now and replacing Edler's minutes will be tougher than people realize... having said that I am not a big Edler fan and I really believe it's time to move on from Hamhuis. I am all for a Sbisa/Edler trade (potentially) and NOT bringing Hamhuis back. I get the sentimental attachment to Hamhuis here but it's painfully obvious that all ties to the 2011 core need to severed and that may include the Sedins one day.
Hammer is an aging...injury prone vet who produces basically zero points who can barely hang in the top 4. Why bring him back on the cheap to play 40 games/year and add a small amount of mentorship? This would be a backwards move IMO and possibly a strike 2 on current MNGT which could really backfire.
While I like a lot of the moves this MNGT group has made I'm not sure resigning Hamhuis sends the right message. |

[quote=MaWLz]According to a highly placed Stars source, the Stars and Canucks had a deal in place. It wasn’t exactly the same as the trade that eventually sent Calgary’s Kris Russell to Dallas but it was “similar.”
The deal was taken to Canucks ownership. Ownership requested more. The Stars rejected that request and made the trade with the Flames.
Dallas then came back to the Canucks with a lesser offer for Hamhuis — believed to be a draft pick in 2017 — but were turned down.
“They lost the deal,” the source said. “The deal Calgary got was pretty much available to Vancouver.”
Interesting...imagine that, Benning covering for the guy that signs his pay cheque

Much like the flames did a few years back the Canucks are transitioning to a younger team ...and before the higher end prospects are ready you have to add the vey granlund etc types to fill the gap ...give it time |

This has been spread around by a few Canucks sources as well. Ownership has the final say in all hockey transactions and it is believed that ownership wanted more from Nill. I have seen 3 or 4 Canucks media guys say the exact same thing. Either way, lets please move on from TDL.

It's not that I feel Edler is better defensively it is the minutes Edler puts up. Very tough to replace which largely contributes to Edler's gaffes out there. Edler plays almost 5-8 more MPG than Hamhuis which may make Edler seem worse defensively....but really they are kind of on par. As of right now w are noticing Edler out of the lineup big time...Hamhuis comes/goes in the lineup and we survive. |

So you want them to trade edler and not resign hamhuis ...unless you get a D man back that could back fire terribly for your D core ...I can buy the idea of just one of edler/hamhuis going but both ?

to stay on that topic a little longer , this Bob McKenzie interview might provide a little perspective, on how it all (possibly) shook out. His speculation is as good as anyone else's

The morning after.
I think Canucks screwed up yesterday. 100 pages 2500 posts in 24 hours hints that I am right.
Twitter and the Airwaves were screaming Fire Benning Fire Linden.
But the biggest indication that we screwed up was that resident troll PHucker was back posting in his glory. That is how I know things have gone really bad is when he comes here to gloat. Then you know you are at Rock Bottom .
I think yesterday we took a turn called Jumping the Shark Tank from the sitcom Happy Days.
We have run out of ideas so we will bring back the aging Dman to build a bubble team even though we could have had 17 mil in cap space and a roster spot to fill with a proper RHD.
Canucks youth movement took a kick to the nuts yesterday. Today is another day. - VANTEL
These things are not mutually exclusive. Vrbata will not be back next season, agree? Hamhuis "wants" to be backk, but Benning has given no indication that he plans to sign him. Prust will not be back, maybe not even in the NHL next season. I'm not sure if the bridge is burnt with Higgins or not. Maybe he trains hard and wins a spot back, probably not. I think we all agree that this team won't be contending for a Stanley Cup next season either, so suffering through one more year of Burrows won't be that big a deal. I'm not even disappointed that Hansen didn't get moved at his peak. Based on the deals that went down, I think the very best they might have done is a single second round pick, which will turn into a productive NHL'er less then 50% of the time. Like Burrows, Hansen has one more year, and if he has a decent season there is always the option of moving him next deadline.
What I'm saying is you are still going to get your cap space, which I hope they don't use next year on anything more then 1 year deals. |

I wouln't mind Sutter back, but I think they should sit Hank for the balance of the season... that fecker is so selfish to put the team first and wanting to play through injury.

This was posted at 01:37 this morning by boonerbuck;
I just read 3 of the province stories. Not surprisingly, there is a tiny mention of JB side of the story and then paragraph after paragraph quoting a unnamed source close to Dallas, being reported by a unnamed media member that they dont even credit.... it it goes on and on... and like a wave it rips through the media and fans think that represents more smoke than a single unnamed source.... even though it's still just a single unnamed source.
And unless these unnamed sources are willing to stand in front of a camera, or put their stories and names in print, so that they can be analyzed like JB did, it's pure speculation and BS, either put up or shut up |
