So you want them to trade edler and not resign hamhuis ...unless you get a D man back that could back fire terribly for your D core ...I can buy the idea of just one of edler/hamhuis going but both ? - Redmile247
Both. Not just because of the old stale core thing we need a FULL culture change. |

Well how much time do they need. This forum has been proposing deadline day deals since we were bounced from the playoffs last season. - Bullfrog77
the deadline was almost 24 hours ago and we are still crying over it. |

There will always be something to cry about in Canuckland. I can imagine the day when the Canucks win the cup and the day of the parade someone will call 1040 to complain that the parade didn't go by their office and they're pissed about it. |

Most everyone outside of BC hates the Canucks. A lot of the fan base is apathetic. A lot of the hardcores are pi$$ed and hate the management. A lot of the fans and reporters want the coach fired. There is doom and gloom everywhere. The building is empty and the tickets are cheap.
Ahhhhhhhhhhh, this feels right. As a lifetime fan of the team, this just feels right. I never felt quite right in the heady days of 2009-2012 when we debated the Stanley Cup. I was always waiting for the bottom to drop out.... b/c after all this is the team that I grew up with.
Now we get to see a rebuild pretty much from scratch (and i, for one, believe that the foundational pieces are being set).
You might not see anyone sitting in the seat beside you (in the arena or bar) watching the game, but trust me, they'll all be back in 4 years telling you exactly what the team needs to do to win the cup b/c they have always been "die hard" hockey fans. |

Yes, the whole notion that something is better than nothing doesn't work for me. We still have the rights to an asset and teams now know that Benning will stand firm if need be (if that's what happened). Sign him or deal his rights pre-draft. People should remember how pathetic the UFA D class is this summer. We may get s decent pick yet |

I am disappointed, JB should have traded him on Sunday but..... spilt milk and all.
I'd rather keep him then get bent over by Dallas. |

They couldn't move Dan Hamhuis at the deadline ....what gives you any confidence I. Their ability to get anything for Hansen next deadline? - Bullfrog77

The "source" is still hidden from the public and will never come out, so Benning takes the blame. - A_SteamingLombardi
Sure and that is the prerogative of the journalist who are putting themselves on the line in lieu of the source.

This was posted at 01:37 this morning by boonerbuck;
I just read 3 of the province stories. Not surprisingly, there is a tiny mention of JB side of the story and then paragraph after paragraph quoting a unnamed source close to Dallas, being reported by a unnamed media member that they dont even credit.... it it goes on and on... and like a wave it rips through the media and fans think that represents more smoke than a single unnamed source.... even though it's still just a single unnamed source.
And unless these unnamed sources are willing to stand in front of a camera, or put their stories and names in print, so that they can be analyzed like JB did, it's pure speculation and BS, either put up or shut up - Makita

Man, I remember as a kid being sold on Jere Gillis being the great hope of the franchise. Those were the days.

I can see your side and why you want this ... I just feel what you want to happen can't really happen until the twins are done in van much like iginla in cgy.
The one thing you have to be careful of is getting rid of too many NHL D and not having quality enough replacements ...look what happened to a bunch of first rounders in edm ...not having a good enough D could hurt tbe kids development |
