Andrew Ladd won't sign with Chicago, they won't be able to fit him in. Why should a team help another team win a cup? You have to be prepared to pay the cost associated with buying something. I hope Dallas loses in the 1st round and regrets not having made a better deal - 1970vintage
Calgary bent Dallas over and went in deep with no lube on that deal. |

absolutely tremendous return for both hudler and Russell.

You make no f'ing sense. Horvat's -30 must mean something about WD's "trust". He's on the ice against some pretty good competition night in and out. There are now 7 forwards that play regular minutes who are under 25. And WD wasn't brought here because of his love for "playing the kids", it was because of his love for winning, at every level he's coached at so far (except the NHL obviously). Have a look at the top 100 players for FO results. There are very few players under 25. Which rookies, McDavid? There are only two rookie defensemen in the league who have outscored Hutton so far. McCann was the 24th pick and is playing in the NHL at 19. He's 21st in rookie scoring in fewer games then most of the players on that list. There's plenty to female dog about, just not this... - 1970vintage

you acknowledged that it was a different situation so you understand where i would say that Benning is not Tallon.
i'm sure that this may shock you but benning has been criticized ad nauseam on his trades. i'm sure there was pressure on him to hold his ground against the growing perception that he will pay (or take) anything to get a deal done.
so would i rather take whatever or keep the asset?
hmmm, in his situation, i would have probably behaved the same way (i'm a guy who will say fcuk you rather than get taken advantage of in business).
however, i don't think i'd put myself in that situation. i blame benning and am upset but realize that it is more frustration looking for a villain on my part. - RealityChecker
I think my favourite part was Bennings comments about Vrbata, that he gave 8 realistic teams and none, not one of them, was willing to offer even a pick. That's on Benning for giving him a NTC in the first place, but on Verbata for sucking so bad this year, a contract year. |

Why is it that a team that has failed to win the cup in 45 years is above criticism? And if it's open to criticism, then why not the current management group?
Nucker has been pretty consistent with his message about Benning, that he isn't a fan.
Certainly there are moves he's made (or not made) that have just about every fan scratching their heads?
People vilify WD just about every day on here, are they trolls as well? - golfingsince

Possible. Wonder if they tried to unload Hemsky. - Nucker101
Hadn't thought of that. If they tried to dump salary it makes sense why Benning would say no. |

you aren't understanding the concept. We are canucks fans discussing Canucks related topics. We are not making fun of Mcdonaugh for Gomez in the Habs threads. We are not making fun of Forsberg for Erat in the WSH forums. We are discussing current and valid topics for the canucks. We are not joining in the mayhem that is another team's thread just to piss off their fans in THEIR forum. Don't get things confused here though, I will go have a beer and talk hockey with a fan of any hockey franchise to discuss their team, but if they are going to join in conversion specifically to rile me up over something I have no control over, its going to piss me off. Not quite sure Golfing will ever understand what it is meant to have a adult conversation between two NHL clubs fans and what the term trolling or to be a troll means. Either way, I am done trying with him lol.

I think you need to slowly and carefully read my posts. It is a basic overview on the difference between constructive conversation on relative and current topics regarding the fans of their NHL franchise and what it is to be a troll. - Codes1087
i think that it has more to do with the accepted wisdom that nucker is a troll.
he is absolutely not a troll. he is actually more rational and intelligent in his posts than many who call him troll.
you and i would agree that criticizing the team does not automatically make you a troll.
so let it be known from this day forth that nucker is not a troll. as belch correctly put it, we can put him at the intersection of rational hockey mind avenue and drama queen boulevard. |

what does mcdavid have to do with Horvat being poop in the FO? - Crazybagoham
You tell me, they were your two separate thoughts, I didn't put them together. In fact, it's actually three different points.
1. WD must "trust" Horvat to some extent given his matching up against quality players - i.e., fewer protected minutes.
2. Horvat is 20, and does pretty well in the face off circle given that almost all of the top 100 players in FO% are much more experienced then him.
3. You rant about the "rookies" needing to be better but in fact they are doing pretty well, given their situation. |

You need to bring more game.
Right now you are just a little troll in your comments.
All you do is find a part that you can respond to in a negative fashion.
Can you make just one post that is positive and not having down your fellow board members.
Even if you disagree with something you can word your phrases to not sound like such a whiny douchtard er I mean child.
If you are able to bring something to the table that's not so whiny perhaps you'd be taken more seriously.
Sorry for being a Richard it's just your wording that causes this type of response. |

There is nothing left to be sensitive about this season. I am not asking for anything other than to not disturb the peace.
Maybe YOU need to comprehend what it is to be a troll and what it is to have a mature conversation with an individual who has opposing thoughts... Read that slowly before replying please. |

how's vey working out? you'll see him on a line with horvat tonight. WD goes and breaks up Baertschi/horvat.... our most dynamic young line... he's wacko dude. Our rookies are solid because of their own hard work, not because of what WD is doing. |

In all seriousness. Baertschi and Horvat should have been kept together IMO. Apart from them, if the Sedins are doing it that night, we really have trouble creating quality scoring chances. Experimenting with two players who have played together on the Heat might be alright for a game though. |

what is even a bigger head scratch is slowly integrating him on the first line with practice WITH the sedins AFTER TDL. I am not sure if its just a bit of rehab to get him skating again in practice but he should have been on that top line months ago... |

So which is it? WD only plays veterans and doesn't trust rookies (who are all doing poopty) and he was brought in because he's so good with kids? Or he's whacko and doesn't know how to coach and his saving grace is how hard his rookies are working making his stupid decisions look less stupid?
