31 goals in 2014/2015 right there on his boxscore, you can criticize what I say, but you dont seem to really watch a lot of games. McCann certainly has been better than most on this roster, especially when he was playing center for daniel when hank was hurt.

Ok I think I'm ready now. I spent yesterday golfing in a little mini-tourney with the boys, blind partners, lowest net scores win….Rob and I won

Good to see some of you old posters back posting, please continue, some may not agree with me but it makes for better conversation when we have differing opinions. I like debate because to others points of view has actually swayed my opinion…yes I've been wrong before.

But I still know the X's and O's better than Nucker ever will lol

I disagree, Vrbata isn't willing to go to the places where any old plug can score from with the Sedins. That's why Burrows / Hansen etc have been successful. They get in hard on the forecheck, turn pucks over and go to the net. Vrbata shoots from the top of the circles and would never win the puck in the corner.
- 1970vintage

i see where you're coming from. hansen, like burrows, have speed that vrbatta has not. hansen this year, has finally been able to use his speed to finish. the sedin stretch pass has been very effective with hansen.

so your question would vrbatta in an increasingly speed driven league be able to produce similar to the beginning of last season?

i'm of the opinion that the sedins use what's given. hansen has speed so they try stuff to maximize the mismatches. if they had vrbatta, i'm sure they would make the subtle differences needed to maximize vrbatta's strengths.

23 of those 31 were on the PP. At evens he's pretty much useless.

Maybe, we'll never know. Perhaps they would have cycled down low until everyone's heads were spinning and then fed the soft pass up into the high slot where he would be waiting. He has looked terrible with Horvat/Baertschi.

I think you need to slowly and carefully read my posts. It is a basic overview on the difference between constructive conversation on relative and current topics regarding the fans of their NHL franchise and what it is to be a troll.

I was under the impression we went out in free agency last season and wanted a winger that could play with the sedins? That's exactly what we got with vrbata, then everyone got surprised when he couldnt play a completely different game than what he was asked for (a year ago we wanted shots, and goals). I am against Vrbata as much as anyone I think he's a floater I've made that clear in th past, but taking Vrbata off the sedins was the worse move WD made this season, chemistry is a thing and who cares how we did it, that line got us into the playoffs.

Good day, all.

Fair enough, my disagreement is that it wouldn't have mattered if Vrbata was playing with the Sedins all season, his totals would probably be higher then they are, but still not good enough to entice a team who hopes to contend for the cup to pick him up at the deadline. Since it's March already, we'll never know for sure.

i honestly think he mentally packed it in during december.

the funny thing is that i honestly think this season is a net win.

i never thought that this team was any good and a believe a rebuild will take multiple seasons. i've been pleasantly surprised at how many and some of the roles the youngsters are playing.

honestly, i'm baffled at the criticisms that the team hasn't played the rookies enough or how yesterday negatively affects the youth.

at the end of the day, the team will have a very good (to great - fingers crossed) pick and have integrated 3-8 youngsters into the lineup.

net positive season.

It wasn't working anymore. WD would get crucified for not switching it up if he hadn't.

One thing with the Sedins is the other winger has a shelf life. Things click for like 5-10 games and then get stale (or other teams catch on to game plans).

Vrbata wasn't working, even on the PP (i seem to recall plenty of PP1 time for V).

Hansen caught fire and deserved to stay up there.
That line has stalled now too and needs a shakeup again.

It's too bad Burrows is a shell of his former self...I would like to try a yougin' up there for a good chunk of games (5-10) to see if chemistry is there...maybe JV, Grenier, Etem?

Or just shut down henrik and put JM on the top line for a bit.

Yeah, but I'd like to see JV//McCann get PP time over guys like Burrows. A top 8 pick and more ice for the youth would be nice. That Shinkaruk trade hurts though Was really interested to see him get a couple of games late and how he looked in camp next year.

i have to ask b/c i honestly would like to know.

what are you basing this opinion on? i ask b/c i watch hockey. to be more specific, i watch the nhl. i don't watch junior (a few games during the wjhc though). i don't watch the ahl and i don't watch ncaa.

i say that b/c i don't really have an opinion on our draft picks aside from the cursory "i'd prefer this guy to that guy," based on the 2 or 3 articles i've read. i don't however go crazy about this guy being a sleeper or that guy being a bust b/c i haven't watched enough.

and i don't really like basing my opinion on other peoples' opinions which is basically what i'd be doing with draft picks prospects.

so back to my question: why are you so sure that the trade is bad?

i get that the draft projections show shinkaruk to be more of an offensive dynamo but based on stats, granlund has produced just as much if not more at the same points in his development.

so what makes you so adamant?

Natural goal scorer would be my guess.
