Shouldn't we potentially be upset?
Media loves this. 1040 is going nuts. we just lost next year's cup. I can't get out the front door because the sky has fallen and clouds are blocking my way.
This was a must win game that we lost.
cue Pratt's rant, he has one every day.
cue Sid's rant on Tim and Sid.
Since Hamhuis had to move today, and didn't, where does that leave you?
I am betting the sun will rise tomorrow. - hillbillydeluxe
This post was about as retarded as they come. Whats wrong with saying I hoped to get a solid return for hamhuis?? It sounds more like the sun wont be rising for you

1) We know your pain all too well, we call it the Tambellini / Crack-T era.
2) The Leafs re doing exactly what the Oilers did the year we drafted Taylor Hall and look how far that got us. - ReveenV2
When Hall came to the Oilers you had nothing to assist him.
We have a core of Sutter Horvat Tanev Edler that are already NHL savy |

Hamhuis, he supposedly has a deal on the table with the Stars but didnt' say yes and Dal went with Russell. - allsports
They had a deal. Stars decided to instead go with Russel...Benning said it was a similar deal...
Stars came back after and basically said we'll give you the left-overs of the deal if you still want them. Benning was right to say no IMHO.

Pirri is a UFA and we are a non-playoff team. I think we "gamble" when the UFA market opens. My undrstanding of the Dallas deal is that Dallas chose Russell over Hamhuis, which is not something JB can do much about. - neem55
Pirri is not UFA. |

Pirri is a RFA and obliged only a 10% raise on his $975k salary

I'm not trolling, so please don't take this the wrong way.
I'm absolutely shocked that Benning couldn't get ANYTHING done today. I actually feel kinda sorry for the fan base, they deserve better.
It's like Benning doesn't know what to do. He's either apprehensive or overplays is hand only to have it blow up in his face... Very much like Gillis before him.
Not only did Vancouver not get trade anything for the future, but a number a very capable NHLers remain on the squad and the team will win a few more games than they probably should down the stretch, ultimately worsening their overall draft position.
Tough day, guys, tough day. |

Stop it... you're making Canuck fans look bad. He might be better than Eberle one day but that day isn't today.
Plus you need to learn that comparing apples to oranges in futile. |

I don't suggest that, I've suggested that Horvat is good and will get better and is a much different player. I never said he was better than Eberle, thanks for coming out though. I think Eberle is a great player, not a great defender which is in fact a description I could use for a lot of oilers top-6. |

So Hamhuis didn't get moved, what now?
I was just trying to point out that life goes on... or maybe I'm wrong.
He had to... but didn't...
Just wondering how you are going to address the future now that it has gone totally off the rails.

Tough day guys, tough day. - As_I_See_It
Tough day yes but it was a lousy TDL n lacklustre.
Edler n Sutter r out for the season n Hank is hurting n could go down anytime.
1 of 2 things would happen....
The kids step up n we climb the standings a bit. A good sign.
We suffer even more n drop to 5 or 6th.
Either way we r one key injury away from either scenario.

RNH is actually a pretty solid two way player. Eberle is a pure scorer and there is nothing wrong with that. If you want to compare apples to apples lets compare McDavid, RNH or Draisaitl to Horvat... |

his faceoff skill is starting to concern me as well. Maybe they need to hire a specialist coach for them - Crazybagoham
Id agree with that completely. However one of best FO guys was Linden, which we have access to. He was around 78% at times, esp in own zone. Love for him to school some of the centers. Makes you wonder why it hasnt happened yet. Just even for a day say 3 times a year. |

I hope Hank get's shut down for the rest of the season, but don't think management wants to put the young centres in a spot where we are losing and they have had too much responsibility put on their shoulders. |
