I want to know how Mike Peca was able to hit like he did. i saw him at Golf Galaxy a few years ago and the dude is small; he was probably only like 170 lbs. Granted he's probably not as big as he was when he was playing, but still, some of those hits he laid out. Damn. It took me maybe 5 minutes to realize who it was because I couldn't believe he was so small. Somewhat the same with Ryan Miller. I saw him at a Dave Matthews concert like 10 years ago. This lanky mother(frank)er walked over and stood right in front of me on the lawn. Greasy hair, white t-shirt and jeans. I'm like wtf dude. And then it hit me. I think he was under the influence of some substance, maybe he was just drunk, he had a beer in his hand. But I never would've said he was an NHL goaltender just by looking at the guy. |

Slow-ass Kassian blows right by Ristolainen.
But it's okay because he put up all of his points in one week. - CaptainRivet
Man isn't that the truth .... the sad fact is ........ Risto is going to GET PAID handsomely for that weeks' work. |

While we're at it with the Stamkos talk why don't we throw McDavid a mega offer in two years once his rookie deal is done in Edmonton. He wanted to cry when the lottery balls came up in the Oilers favor |

I have met McNabb, who was lanky as hell, Larsson who is tiny, and Risto who is a giant, and a nice dude. |

Looking forward to 18 more minutes of inept dump and chase hockey and 2 with the goalie pulled frantically trying to do something they should have been trying to do for the first 58 minutes.
Why did they stop hitting after the first period? - seedy
Nobody hits anymore .... unless you are the Ducks or Kings. Like every other sport .... the NHL is pussified. |

Its just as much positioning and momentem as it is size. peca was a pretty smart player.....until he held out for a couple hundred thousand dollars.
Of course, we also should have just paid him.....

Yea, its not the first time ive felt that way about this team, stretching back to 06-07
Our PP has been hot and cold all season though, and right now it is really cold. Cant really argue with much you said above that, young teams make mistakes, our prized rookie is going to be approaching double the amount of games he has ever played on top of being thrust into playing against the toughest competition he has ever played on a nightly basis with oreillys absence. I wouldnt be mad if they shut oreilly down for the season. It is what it is and im looking forward to next season.
Forget all the stamkos stuff, that would be fantastic but i believe just a full season of lehner at this level, and a few key aquisitions including a top 5 pick could change alot. Learning how to win is something often overlooked, and with the amount of one goal losses this season the above could have us looking at a playoff spot this time of year instead of bottom 5. - ieetbred
Stamkos isn't happening ............ the quicker people realize that ... the better off they will be. I for one don't want him anyways if it's going to cost $10-$11 million per year. No thanks ............. we could turn over our entire 3rd and 4th lines for that money.

The money tied up in our 3rd and 4th lines could be used to remake themselves, with money to spare. |
