This team has zero offense and zero defense. Every game is boring and the players look lost. - CaptainRivet
I think kane eichel reinhart have been pretty good tonight. What do you expect elsewhere when you put your 3 best offensive options available on the same line?
I personally dont ever think girgensons should be separated from eichel but its obvious bylsma does not like reinhart at center and does anyone blame him? He has been borderline invisible at center. |

Today begins the final phase of the season. With 19 games remaining I see the Sabres, Toronto, Jets, Arizona, Canucks, Oilers, Calgary and Colombus all in the mix to the bottom.
I see Buffalo getting (18-20) points over the final 19 simply based on the goaltending. That ain't gonna get it done to fall in the bottom 3rd and probably will be too many points to get in the bottom 5 actually |

3 weeks of cal o'reily on the PP and Gionta in the top 6 will take care of that, no matter how good lehner is. |

They've looked good tonight, those you mentioned that is, but the last 20 games aside from a few small flares has been grueling. My concern is the mistakes that the kids are making game in game out, which are not being corrected. in fact they don't look like they're even being addressed let alone corrected. Way too much youth and raw talent on this team to look as uninspired as they have lately.
What is our recent PP numbers? 3 for our last 30 or something? I think at this point in the season, I would see if you can decline a penalty as we tend to look worse with a man advantage somehow.

I actually like catenacci, i did in his first callup till he got wrecked by gudas. He has some wheels and some definite fire.
I know he has been in the organization for what feels like forever is he just one of those tweeners? |

Slow-ass Kassian blows right by Ristolainen.
But it's okay because he put up all of his points in one week. - CaptainRivet
Hey, I agree. My point is more that you can't judge a player until he faces adequate competition. Like 365 said, they all are bad |

The play of lenher is the one shining point in these last few games. If he plays like this next year, we should be able to steal an extra 3-4 games at least |

This is disgusting Hockey. We have one good line and lines that would be barely okay in the AHL. Did I just see Pysyk, cal O'Reilly, Moulsen on the 2nd pp? Oh God help me |

Pittsburgh faithfuls made the same excuses for this guy for years, until the embarrassment of the Bruins massacre when they realized, maybe this guys not as good as they thought a got lucky that first year. - bberkey1

I know it doesn't look great, but Kassian actually isn't slow. He's not agile, but his straight line speed has looked much more effective since his time in Vancouver when he improved his acceleration a bunch. |

To be fair, the guy is smart and has shown some decent hockey IQ, but some guys are just not good at coaching. Wade philips was an awful head coach, but as D-cord, fantastic. Perhaps if Bylsma was an assistant, he'd be able to contribute a bit more, but as a head coach, I don't see it. |

Well, GMTM has some work to do in the offseason.
Hope he doesn't get blinded with singular focus on Stamkos...the are 10 other issues to address.
Get 'er done Timmy...rest up now, lay off the booze, clear your head and concentrate at the task at hand.
Build through the draft, augment through FA...not the other way around! |

Yea, its not the first time ive felt that way about this team, stretching back to 06-07
Our PP has been hot and cold all season though, and right now it is really cold. Cant really argue with much you said above that, young teams make mistakes, our prized rookie is going to be approaching double the amount of games he has ever played on top of being thrust into playing against the toughest competition he has ever played on a nightly basis with oreillys absence. I wouldnt be mad if they shut oreilly down for the season. It is what it is and im looking forward to next season.
Forget all the stamkos stuff, that would be fantastic but i believe just a full season of lehner at this level, and a few key aquisitions including a top 5 pick could change alot. Learning how to win is something often overlooked, and with the amount of one goal losses this season the above could have us looking at a playoff spot this time of year instead of bottom 5. |

On a serious note, i want to know if this team practices shooting? I swear the word "WIDE" is mention more often than it should for an NHL team. |
