Why . Do you find comfort in being a bubble team and drafting 15 th?
We have Hamhuis Edler Hutton and Tanev already? How many goals do the have?
How many does Giordano have?
How many hits do the four of them have?
Give me Pedan instead , I would prefer the top 5 draft pick for 4 years so we can get high end talent? - VANTEL

What a nightmare.....I can't think of an NHL team that's in a worse spot than the Canucks right now
The only two elite players are in their mid-30s, and have huge contracts that can only be traded as a pair
A couple of decent youngsters (Virtanen and Horvat), but neither projects to be a game-changer
Two disgruntled vets (Hamhuis and Vrbata) whose trades should have represented the kick-off to a lengthy rebuild are still on the team
Yikes

At draft.
Sbisa and Hansen to TBL for Carle and Drouin. TBL get a young Dman, save some coin and get a tenacious honey badger. They also get out from under Carle and move Drouin about as far away as possible.
Edler and Burrows, plus pick to NYI for Hamonic and Kulemin. NYI finally move Hamonic back to Canada. They get rid of Kulemin's contract and pick up some useful pieces in an effort to make a run before Tavares bolts for Toronto. Van gets the better Dman and try to flip Kulemin for peanuts asap.
Sedin/Sedin/Granlund (why not)
Baer/Bo/JV
Kulemin/Sutter/Drouin
Dorsett/Gaunce/Etem
Vey.
Hamonic/Hutton
Tanev/Hamhuis
Pedan/Biega

I woulda sold high on Hansen if someone was willing to pay a high price. - Nucker101
I was hoping that too. Still hoping maybe at the draft or next deadline. Would suck to see the wheels fall off like burrows and get nothing for him. I would do the same with edler too. |

It's the next thing to hope for and then throw a tantrum about when it doesn't happen.

Not bad id like both of those if they played out. Would really like to add hamonic plus with that deal your getting a guy a few years younger too which is nice. Also, almost all of our dmen prospects are leftys so this way our top 4 rightys are locked in for about 4 years.

The way the lottery is we should have a legit shot at moving up. I assume we will finish bottom 6. Sure would be nice to get top 3 this year. |

He'll be 21 next season, so sure why not. Unless he wants to finish his degree. Then no. |

It may have been smart to let Hamhuis walk for nothing. It sounds counter intuitive but this is how Brian Burke put it after he did not trade Cammellari. It basically send a message to the rest of the league that you management group is willing to trade assets for next to nothing if they are on expiring contracts. Burke later credited not trading Cammy with the teams ability to get a good return for Glencross last season. This could be Benning's line of thinking. |

Great.
So he joins the Comets then.
Get's called up when Miller get's injured.
And then comes up full time when Miller is traded at next year's tdl.
Just looking ahead a wee bit. |

That's presuming that Leafs, Oilers, Flames, Jets, Sabres, Bluejackets and Coyotes have to win their games for the Canucks to get within lottery territory. That's a pretty big dream. |

Nope if we lose every game we finish lower than Coyotes and CBJ . |
