Those guys are the only guys people will trade for though. You can't move poop for talent, what is wrong with people like you? 28 is the only one you didn't mention that will get you something of worth. 63 and 3 as well. Other than that, no one is trading for our scraps. - justplaintravis
Someone traded for MIKE WEBER! Nuff said |

I'm not even sure he has a ton of value.
The Sabres don't need to aquire a top4 defensemen, or a top 6 winger... They need a top 2 defense, and top line wings.
Girgensons doesn't get you close to either. We might as well keep him.
Although if the rumors are true that he doesn't fit in this system....He might be moved anyways |

I know i have an incredibly negative mind set about unproven "potential" acting like a twit... but at this point with that whole situation.. I'll give you "Future Considerations" and call it a fair deal |

It will be a long stretch of games to get us to Draft Day.
The team cashed it in last night. Very little energy, almost no inspiration.
Despite all the "aw shucks, team first" PR stuff, it was pretty clear that McDavid and Eichel were both trying to play well. I'm disappointed that the guys in blue did so little to help Jack - he was doing a lot on his own while the other guys were just getting paid. |

The best thing Drouin should do is shut his mouth and go play hockey.
Longer he sits, the less you'll get for him.
As far as your demands, let everyone know when you come back to reality. |

If the system is to let the other team have the puck and keep you in your own zone for 90+seconds, well it would seem they all fit the system. |

Well that was (frank)ing embarrassing..
Was sitting behind the net that McDavid scored on. Risto just let him blow by and it was an incredibly weak shot on net that Lehner HAS TO save. Unacceptable.
Bogosian was awful all game as was Gionta and Girgensons. Foligno not much better either. Been saying this for weeks. Was even more evident on the ice.
Pysyk played a great game. Eichel had a few flashes but was otherwise not very good. Not saying he's bad obviously but he's been on a wicked cold streak.
That pass from Reinhart to C O'Riley was INSANE. Need more of that from him.
This team has some of the worst puck awareness I've ever seen. Multiple times they didn't know where the puck was or weren't in the right position. At least three times each by Girgensons and Gionta.... - bluengold12
Yes the winning goal was ugly but Lehner was lucky to have kept them in it that long. He made some big big stops earlier. Some great effort some just hit him but still he kept them in it. Lots of grade a chances.

I wanted to see a good game. It's post trade deadline and plenty of point grinding happening. Those good games happen between teams that are in or on the bubble. While I am interested in seeing McDavid vs. Reichel, I will pass on an individual matchup to see the best, fastest and most exciting team in the league, and an established team rivalry that hate one another and displayed it last night.
What you said here, was completely opposite with the Pens Caps game:
It was a sluggish affair at times with plenty of mistakes and turnovers and stoppages. There were fits and spurts during the game and during two long stints, the Oilers hemmed in the Sabres for long periods of time.
I think NBC got it right. Highlights did the game justice in my opinion.

I agree, but Girgs isn't really helping his case. He was bad last night again.
8 goals between Girgensons and Larsson is unacceptable. Those two need to figure it out, or get moved. |

I doubt they'd make a selection at 8 at their own draft. They either pick high or trade it. Im good with either - Sabresfan-365
So why are we all not saying they should "tank" once more?
Getting the 8th pick will not help much in all likelihood whether we use it or trade it.
All of a sudden Toronto is tanking and it's a great strategy, why not us again?
Call up what we have in Roch, if anything, and lets see what they can do, or not do.

This is about as Tank nation as its going to get for this team. Gionta in the top 6, Cal O'Reilly on the powerplay etc.. What's keeping us from the basement is the schedule and Lehner. |

Anyone else notice that while physical, Risto is VERY slow? I know he got burned by McDavid on that goal, but earlier in the game he was burned by Zach Kassian. ZACH (frank)ING KASSIAN.
There's also this...
He is far from being the #1 defenseman we think he is. He has a lot of points, but half of those come on the power play, while the other half come from simply playing the 7th most minutes out of any defenseman in the entire league. He is an extremely overrated player at 5v5 and if he does not improve his play, cannot be counted on to be our #1 in the future |

This is why I have asked if he is good enough to eventually contend for a cup as a #1 D man. The numbers aren't pretty |

You have to read beyond just Hero charts. Playing a ton of minutes goes both ways, you may see more points but you'll naturally see more points against. He plays the toughest competition of anyone on the team and often gets put on the ice while our worst defensive lines are out there too. There's also the fact that he's been paired with gorges, not an actual top pair guy who can help like the way Muzzin helps Doughty. And his speed, way slower than at the beginning of the year. For a team that's this bad he's playing way too many minutes as a 21 year old. |

- lung3r
Ed Snider is not the owner of NBC, buddy
Comcast Spectacor and Comcast SportsNET are both regional and Snider sold the majority stake to Comcast, which acquired a majority stake in NBC |

I agree that it doesn't tell the whole story, but if we are going to bash Bogosian, praise Pysyk, then Risto deserves his fair share of criticism.
He's not making nearly the amount of plays he was to start the year.
Part of it is fatigue, part of it is teams catching on that he's our #1 defensemen, and game planning for him |

The fact that he is only 21 is what saves him. He still has time to get better. And the benefit of the HERO chart is that it takes all possession data relative to the teammates he plays with. For example, Risto's Corsi relative to his teammates is a -2.9. Gorges is -1.9. While neither number is pretty, Risto is actually bringing Gorges down, not the other way around as most would have guessed. |

Your chart is from 2013-2016! Not a true reflection of Corsi. Try 2015-16.

I'm not trying to say Risto is a bad player. I love him. I'm just saying he's going to have to get a whole lot better at 5v5 play if we are going to contend with him as our top defenseman |
