That's the main problem, and will hamper any proper rebuild. I would HATE to sign Lucic, that guy is going to decline so fast. It'll keep the Canucks a bubble team to sign any of those mid-upper tier guys to a long term contract (which is what they'll all be seeking). 1 or 2 years? Sure. I didn't mind the Vrbata or Miller ones, and hell Miller may even get flipped at the next TDL, so things like that are fine with me.

Yep, the thing is every UFA that hits the market is going to be no less then 27 (except for Stamkos, just turned 26).

Thus, are we planning on being competitive in the next 3 years before these guys begin to break down and decline.

I just wish the other teams had to give up their young talent ot level the playiong field, how much better would that team look with Tarasenko/kuznesov and Hedman(is he 23?)

Been to both but im not talking the city life or scenery im talkin hockey.....Stamkos is going to want to play for a contender which none of us are...I asked you guys a few days ago about what direction your team wants to go in and no one answers....you really think Stamkos is gonna go to Vancouver? Really? nothing against the city this is a hockey discussion...if you are Benning how do you sell your team to Stamkos? and dont say money because lots of teams could line up with cash for him and ill also add USD > CAD

I don't think that we are in it but. ... we are one of few teams without an internal budget with the cap space to do it. The leafs are another. Oilers can't afford him unless they want to lose mcdavid in 2 years.
So if the money is the same and you don't care about going to a contender(he'd stay in tampa if this was the case)then I'd say that we we have as good a shot aa few and a better shot then most.

I'm not into it but if we could fit him it'd be huge.
