If the Flames get a real goalie i think Stamkos is a nice fit there.
RFA signings will take masterful work though.

Maybe Stamkos will end up with the Leafs, but he could also pull a Hossa and sign a short term contract with another club in between...

Maybe Calgary wouldn't fit that bill, but they are certainly headed in the right direction.

That will change once Vancouver or another canadian city surpasses Toronto as the nations largest broadcasting market. An average viewing audience for a leaf game is 1.3M. Canucks are around 173,000.

Hard to argue against corresponding advertising revenue.

Thought there was more for Canucks games... or maybe that was a couple years ago when the club was doing better. People say they want the club to tank, but won't support it until it is a playoff team.

TSN and Sportsnet leave me changing the channel when watching a segment that goes from the Leafs, to the Marlies and then the Jays... and that was a week or so ago I saw that happen (can't remember if that was tsn or sportsnet)...

Hillbilly, I agree with you 100%. I don't think it's that far off to say broadcasting trends will start to change because canada can't ignore Vancouver anymore. Our population is growing like mad. Wealthy and we consume. Trust me, networks are going to start to change their tactics. Which we all can agree is a good thing.

Missing the old sportspage that became redundant when sportsnet and tsn were providing more regional coverage, now that sportspage is gone, tsn and sportsnet have cut back on the regional stuff and they under serve us... I guess that is why competition is good.

I think sportsnet over paid on the nhl rights and cut back the local stuff to save money by airing most of their shows out of Toronto... understandable, but if there is an alternative, they will lose whatever previous gains they made. It hurts their brand everywhere else but Toronto.

Which one has Healy and which one has Cox?

To be honest I never watch/listen to the video. I just read the article.

If Gaunce gets a chance to play in cracknell's spot I'm happy.

I want Pedan to get a few games too... WD has to get comfortable with these players because he won't want to put up with mistakes next season when we'll be trying to make the playoffs out of the gate.

Its crazy to even think that he has not played a single game up as a D-man yet. Bart and Weber have not been good enough for him to be held out of atleast a couple trial games on D..

But he has, his first game was as a forward, the others were on D.

I thought he got in 2 games, the first as a forward and the second as a dman... maybe he was in the press box and it was only 1, nonetheless, still disappointing.

Bart making those mistakes (some bad games), when he was trying to do too much, made me miss Edler even more.

You are right. Not sure what I was thinking. I know he had an unfortunate bounce off his stick when he played D one game that led to a goal. I guess it isn't good that I don't remember if he was ready for the show or not. It's hard to keep track when 15 kids make their NHL debut lol
