I hear you the team for sure is as much to blame but man Miller just can't close out one lead or steal one game for us...oh well. All good for #tanknation.

I didn't see Millers post game comments what did he say?

- LordHumungous

He was confused, frustrated with the high stick tips leading to goals... questioning why review if the league doesn't want to overturn the call on the ice.

I think he said Hertl or someone else had one last game. And if the refs can't tell if it is a high stick, don't indicate it is a goal on the ice, let the league decide instead of making the wrong call.

he said some of these guys tipping with the high sticks are 6ft3 and their sticks are in the air...

Clearly frustrated/exasperated.

For a guy that has been a pro so long, that tip and declared goal really knocked him off his game.

The way things look now i think Pedan should have a spot on the roster next year ahead of Larsen or Tyramkin, even biega. But id agree its time to try and move Sbisa++ for a RHD
- phyllee

I like Sbisa's speed and toughness. I'm ok with him being a 5-6. Pedan nor Tryamkin will not be in the top 6 to start the year. more 6-8 til they get their feet wet.

Just my feeling here, but I see Tryamkin not wanting to play in the AHL. Its NHL or KHL for him. Hopefully he's not a problem that way.

Still disappointed over the deadline. Really wanted an extra 2nd or 1st rd pick. But still wouldn't be surprised if Trader Jim (sometimes non trader) does something at the draft to move back into the 1st to grab another Dman.

As for last night:

Canucks tied for 5th worst in league now (4 teams). JVs line looked good. Perfect outcome. Things are looking good (from a draftist point of view)

No doubt. Close losses with the kids putting up points.
Can't ask for a better outcome.

Say we land outside the top 5 in the drafting; maybe 8th like Sportsnet was suggesting. Would you trade that 8th pick for Hamonic? I'd certainly consider it.
- PetrolSexual

I will respectively disagree with you sir. I really don't think Hamonic is worth a top 10 pick IMHO. He is a 25 year old established D-man yes, but there are a ton of younger D-men stepping up and starting to play in the NHL early. I think Hamonic accelerates this rebuild, but I don't think that him alone will turn this situation around. I would much rather use the pick to draft a D-man or BPA. I really think the Canucks need to focus on Defensemen this draft. I also really want them to sign Demko before the draft so we can try and bury the thought of him doing something crazy...

Demko or JB, who might do somethign crazy? What are we worried about?

8th pick for Hamonic? I think there would be more to that trade than 1 for 1, I'd hope.

JB or Demko, both worry me when it comes to possibly losing out on a top goalie prospect. I really don't think that Demko will be going anywhere else, but the thought is always on the back of my mind. JB and Trevor need to make that a top priority before the draft. No sense wasting a 2nd/3rd round pick on another goalie if we intend to turn Demko Pro next year/year after.

I like Hamonic, but I don't want to lose out on a top 10 pick for him. This tire fire isn't going to resolve itself over night and people need to understand this. This is going to be a process that will involve heartache for a few years, which I am COMPLETELY fine with. Draft and develop properly and let kids play.

I am pretty sure Demko will be signing... seems to like the club and has made some friendships with guys like McCann.

I believe we have to to continue to draft all positions, looking at bpa, needs and maybe drop a few spots to take a targeted player later or just pick who you want even if it might be a few picks early.

BPA always sounds like a good strategy but looking back on some of those drafts where you have a large portion of players in the first round being impact players, I wouldn't mind JB straying a little from the common rankings to get who we want/need...

i expect JB to surprise and whip the media and fans into a frenzy, that is just the kind of electric personality he is....

I agree unless make a big pitch for Stamkos win or lose.
or OS Lindholm 7/5.47m if lose then OS Vatanen 5/5m

- Nighthawk

This is the kind of move that I would totally respect the Canucks for doing. I loved it when SJ put the offersheet to Hjalmersson, forcing the Hawks to pass match and getting too close to the cap to keep Niemi

Not to mention that were picking 30th this year.
After we win all of our remaining games and win the cup?
There is still hope isn't there?

My issue is that relying on "pretty sure" is not quite good enough. Our future and potential number 1 goalie is not officially ours until he is signed. I think it should be a high high priority.

You need to take 46 seconds out of your day to watch this video, because it’s delightful. Sure, it makes no sense to have the Canucks on one hand and Friends on the other and then put those hands together, but it somehow works perfectly. -

Benning on the radio:

"we are not going to make bad trades for the sake of making trades"

"we are going to try and sign CHL and NCAA UFA defensemen"

"Pedan WILL be on the team next year"

"we are currently negotiating with the Tryamkin camp and his team to bring him over to North America as soon as possible"

"Cassels is currently behind schedule due to a nagging injury from last year"

Yes.

We can get the first picks back when we move Edler and Hansen.

Etem JM Hansen
Gaunce Granlund Dorsett
Vey Burrows

Edler/Lindholm(7/5.47m)
Hutton/Tanev
Sbisa/Larsen(2/1.5m)
Pedan

Other than Sven the RFA's get min raise
Tryamkin 1-way (3/2m)

2017-18 cap space looks good.
Burrows off the books n Hansen a trade asset.
Miller expired n sign Markstrom.

Tryamkin has to be on a rookie contract, so his hit wont be very high and will be 2-way. Likely why they are trying to get him over here this year, Canucks get to lock him up and see what he has, and he wants to come quick so he gets to burn a year on the rookie contract, closer to bigger money

Starting to realize, the only thing those guys on the radio want is coaches and execs to be fired and at some point before or after admitting they did something wrong...

talking heads saying Vancouver is finally on the tank strategy, but looking at the minutes played last night, I don't think they are that far off from season averages except Hutton is being played more due to Edler's injury.

I think JB is trying to make the best out of the situation and expect to hear the same mantra about trying to make the playoffs next season.

Linden and Benning are taking major heat at the town hall from what I can see.

They are stressing they have an amazing core for the future in Horvat / Virtanen / Hutton/ Demko / Boeser.... Didn't mention McCann...

Benning states - we will be looking to move assets before they diminish

I am not saying panic at all. I have always thought that McCann would be the first "prospect" traded out of the next generation of canucks.

np i complain about 1040 and still listen, i'm a glutton for punishment. just like hearing Canuck talk, different perspectives... usually only way to hear those perspectives is from guests to the shows though...
