Not me. I once quoted/commented on a post that mentioned Mason and his frequent injuries for which people jumped all over me pointing out that Neuvirth has them, too. Calm the frank down, Masonites. lol
Mason was a legit starter when the season began. Still is.
Neuvirth has become a legit starter this season.
Both will want to be paid as such when their deals are up next year.
Imho, the Flyers can't afford to pay for two starters so one is going to have to go. - Scoob
The market for goalies isn't really strong. Reimer only brought back a 4th rounder. It might just be better for the team to hold onto Neuvirth next year because Mason has had some injury issues for two years now.

I just think it's a silly statistic. A shot that hits the post has no shot of going in is a "scoring chance" yet Legwand's goal from his own circle the other night is not. Obviously just 2 cases, one extreme, but still my point. The Flyers lost a playoff game in 1995 on a shot that wasn't a "scoring chance." - jmatchett383

McDavid had so much speed I don't think any of our D would have been able to prevent that goal.
Last night was probably the game that rules them out of playoff contention, so if they play Manning the rest of the way it might help with the draft. On the positive side, the home loss that ended their playoff hopes in my mind last year came in mid-February on a Vinny turnover. So there's been some progression in terms of roster and results this season. - Feanor
I'd honestly prefer them to keep pushing. I know last night hurts badly mathematically, but you never know what happens to the teams they're chasing. Are they really going to help their draft position all that much at this point? They're still an upper middle of the pack pick, and either way they end up with long odds in the lottery.
I was originally bummed when I wasn't able to watch the game... now I'm thankful. I threw up in my mouth a bit when I got home and saw it was 4-0 in the 3rd...

Reimer stinks.
My guess is they will hold on to them for next year. But they're both up at the end of the year. They're going to get paid by someone.

you can get caught up in the outliers of it all if you want, but as with most statistics, there is an effort to capture lots of data to minimize that
it is really the same argument as others have made...medvedev gets burned by mcdavid and everyone says he has done nothing to be better than manning....but if you dont look at an isolated incident and try to capture as much data as possible you realize that Medvedev is creating more chances than he is giving up and playing Manning is really just letting giving him a better seat than the press box to watch scoring chances against flyer goaltenders

I'd keep them both and make a call towards/at the end of next season. I think the playoffs should be a realistic goal for next year and I'd rather have 2 strong goalies as opposed to a 3rd round pick.

Which "everyone" is saying that Manning is better than Medvedev?
I don't know. I'd rather just build the roster around skill and force the opposing team to match their 4th line with a skilled 4th line. To me, there's nothing sadder than watching a Tanner Glass chase around forwards trying to instigate when no one cares. - PhillySportsGuy
It's not just about the rough stuff. They lose way too many battles along the walls and in front of the net. I'm all for skill, but you need some size, especially as you go deeper in the playoffs and refs start letting things go.
I don't hate them, but I thought it was an overreactive Richard move by Hall. - jmatchett383
Hall isn't a dirty player, was it a cross check to the head, ya, it was..was it a intent to injure, doubt it very much..maybe Hall was a little pissed with the take down before he scored? who knows..I like alot of the Flyers fans on here but some of ya are just acting like a bunch of babies.

Without looking at who may available at a reasonable price in free agency, I have no idea. I'm just pointing out that a big body or 2 up front could be helpful.

I didn't say he was a dirty player, just a Richard move.
That said, the game was chippy, but not vert dirty. I didn't have an issue with the Oilers as much as I did the Flyers.

Next two vs CLB and Tampa at home are must wins, because after that they have the dreaded Florida road trip against Tampa and Florida where historically they have been terrible, followed by road games vs Detroit and Chicago on back to back nights. That road trip is murder.
Very tough for them to play come from behind without Voracek. No excuse for them to be that lackadaisical in the first period last night.
Unless Mase was hurt he should have started last night. Who knows maybe he would have made a momentum save. IMO coach went to Neuvirth too many games in a row.
Everyone mentions the hit posts but Couts flubbed an open net shot and had Read been in the right spot he would have had an open net tap in on Couts short handed rush. He was too deep into the crease.
