I don't watch the defensive play/zone exits as closely as many of you guys might, but I see the zone entries more and they're horrendous most of the time.

I've been fed up with them for years...I HATE how they come in, the puck carrier goes about 6 feet into the zone and leaves it to whoever was setup waiting for the rush at the blue line. I've seen it countless times over the years - goes back to Ruff.

With the way teams play now, standing the offensive team up at the blue line, it leaves the d-men close to the puck still that way, and it's so frustrating to watch.

I agree. Thought with the new coach coming in he would bring a new design to it. Guess he didn't think it was a problem. He should watch the game from the 300 level seats.

Imo the 2 are connected. A good zone exit=good transition and often times it can catch the other team off guard. Our zone entries are a problem too but I believe fixing this will make it easier on the forwards and I think we already have the talent in place to have good zone entry. coaches strategy needs to change, eichel will continue to get even better at it.
