Yes, and we've seen the Canucks draft Bure in the 6th round using information no one else had.
Stay positive - A_SteamingLombardi
I'll try, although I still think that the Canucks greased some wheels in Russia when they "found" some extra box scores the proved he was eligible. |

I'm not 100% but I think that only players who were in the minors at the time of the deadline (gaunce) can be sent back down. - belcherbd
from the link you posted:
"I mentioned earlier this week that the Canucks did not 'paper' any players to the AHL, thus eliminating the ability for them to sign them to the AHL."
so benning (frank)ed up..... |

You even think bad of the Canucks on the drafting of Bure?
#PatQuinnSucks
While most teams believed he was ineligible, the Canucks' head scout at the time, Mike Penny, discovered that Bure had played in additional exhibition and international games to make him an eligible late-round draft choice a year early. Jack Button, the Washington Capitals' director of player personnel, admitted "everybody would have taken him earlier. We assumed he was not eligible... you've got to give the Canucks credit for doing their homework |

according to generalfanager, you guys are at 23 nhl roster spots.
the issue is if you take sutter off of ltir, then yes, you do need cap space - and a roster spot for him.

Don't be dramatic
I don't think poorly that the Canucks drafted Bure if it wasn't legit I'm just not so sure it was legit.
I remember hear that quote as well but if I remember correctly some other teams also thought that the Soviet reporter who found these extra documents had forged them. |

If PQ did have them forged that would be pretty creative |

Sour grapes
Edit: It's hard to find other instances where the league agreed with the Canucks. |

Almost Burke like
- A_SteamingLombardi
Burke, I'm pretty sure was front and centre on this. Not 100% but my memory was he was ranting about the NHL trying to screw the Canucks over on this when they originally ruled Bure was ineligible. |

Take what the idiots at Canucks Army say with a grain of salt. They are wrong more often than not. Benning and Linden said cap space isn't an issue so I'll take their word for it |

Is Weber taking up a roster spot and cap space? If so, why not dump him back down again? D for D. |

Agreed, I dont think this has anything to do with cap space or roster spot. They were planning to have him come over after this season and making space available would be very easy planning. I expect it is the finalization of his KHL contract and then negotiating his new one (for term and $$) that is the hold up |

The contract will be an ELC, I can't see how much negotiation is going on.
I hope you are right but at this point I have a hard time believing what the mgmt group is saying in the media. Their actions will be what I judge them on. |
