I dont believe Sbisa is that unshoppable, he's grown on me, I know a lot of people dont like his contract. He's got a big shot (doesnt hit the net much tho), hits hard, his biggest fault is he is too aggressive sometimes which imo isnt a bad thing to have. If we are trading a d man, its gotta be edler, I like our other guys... they just havent been enough.

This team has been much better in their own zone (maybe not in the third) the last 10 games since edler has been injured though. Hutton is proving, that even as a rookie, his mistakes are less egregious and less common than Edlers.

I can't complain about Hutton, but if we could trade Sbisa instead of Edler, it makes us better. Even Edler in a lesser role, if Hutton or another surpasses him on the depth chart would mean he is on our second pairing.

Edler isn't so bad, just isn't a #1.

There is no D in this years draft that I consider NHL ready. For me to trade Tanev would need to be like Vatanen plus or Fla a package deal like Hansen JM Tanev for Crouse Gudbrandson .

If Tryamkin can really play RHD he would be a good pairing with Edler on the second unit. Relieve some of the pressure on Edler. Let him relax a little not having to be the guy..


I would look at a big upgrade on Tanev . He is the man that is a lot easier to move and would also get a nice return. Yes Florida we are looking at you.

but...edler is a pylon :p I dislike his game so much. I'm very excited too, it's been a while since there's been a big defenceman play for this team, let alone a russian.... Maybe he'll have some chemistry with larson? him being an offensive guy, could translate for him :p

this. if one of these young, big rookies comes out and plays good positional hockey, plays the body, can break out of zone (our only guys that can do these are hutton/tanev/biega) they have a good chance of making this team. weber and bart and hamhuis and edler suck because they dont battle.

If these kids come out battling, they better make the team, or I will be prepping my WD effigy.

I think Sbisa is a third pairing dman. Edler is at least top 4.

I can understand the wanting to trade Edler, he is frustrating at times but, hope I don't sound deluded, the good out weighs the bad.

I just don't see him wanting to waive that NTC...

If we don't move a dman and Tryamkin is here next season, we will likely lose Biega on waivers... it would be disappointing. The bulldog is a good 6/7 option.

I imagine he has been scouted over and over. I think if they do bring him here he wont need to beat out anyone

if JB is not supposed to trade picks or prospects then what else does he have to work with? Edler is a true trade asset in a rebuilding process. I think you need to trade Edler if you want to improve the future of this club.

Those two, Linden and Benning, leave me at a loss for words when trying to figure out what their next move is when it comes to player acquisition.

I know what their plans are, as they've laid them out, I just don't know what to expect for moves.
