He is under contract with another team until April 30 th . Why would Canucks want him over so badly if he is a fringe player.

The Canucks are using a financial carrot to get Tryamkin under contract, once he signs he's a RFA instead of UFA. I think it's all about the RFA/UFA thing.

You and the other guy are telling me stuff I already know but none of it explains why not just wait until May 1 and see you at Canucks camp.

That's really the key, so I hope his thoughts are with you. If we can keep Edler and get some big/gritty/responsible guys on top of it, I would be happy, that would be a true rebuild on the fly, especialy considering how well we've overhauled our Forwards.

En route Monsieur* I would think they would come to an agreement, he'd buy out his KHL contract, then they would officially announce his canucks contract, then get him on his way over (visa and whatnot). But I think canucks and his agent are in those initial talks stills. There's no deal between NHL/KHL but I think Tree is trying to handle this well.

I dont see all 3 of Larsen, Pedan, Tree will make the team. One of them has to be no good :p

If he was the number 2 guy and not the number 1 guy he would be much better received in this market, the number one guy would be making 2 or 3 million more then him though. ....

Hes a solid number 2, I'd say Tanev is more a number 2/3 then Edler.

Hate me for saying it but Edler>Tanev 7 or of 10 nights.

I look at Edler and remember him hitting more, being more physical. He doesn't like getting hit, I think it screws up his back and s likely a constant concern for him. He picks his spots.

Tanev to his credit, will take the hit to make the play, but doesn't play a physical game. And Edler certainly has more offense and a better shot than Tanev.

Don't know how many times we hear the observation, after a goal against, our guys were puck watching and nobody was covering anyone.

As I said earlier, I'd like to see Edler on the second pairing with the thought the ice time would be split more between the top 2 pairings and the 3rd pairing played less.

I have never said Edler was the issue. Wouldn't mind moving him for the right return, but would rather see Sbisa as a lhd moved before Edler.

i understand the 1, 2, 3, dmen as in best on the team, but don't necessarily believe you load up on what might be the first pairing with your 2 best dmen.

Edit: I guess the reality is Edler is our best dman, not his fault, just wish we had a better option.

Sign Lucic, add another UFA who can grow a beard and throw a punch and bring some toughness back into this organization.
